Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Despite the good snow, few slopes were open and even fewer prepared (a lot of icy areas on the slopes...do not expect any warning sign). Overcrowded, with waiting times between 30 and 60 minutes (I am talking about Tuesday and Wednesday...how on earth will the place look on weekend!!??). Acceptable experience if you have no other choice, but the real ski experience is to be search and found elsewhere.

To get at the peak you have 2 options ,the easiest is to use the cable in less than 10 min you are at the peak, but also you can hike till there, which i recommend. Is a easy track , it will take you around 2 hours by foot to be up and another 2 hours to come back, but it worth it every step due to the spectacular view.

We went there on December 1st and experienced our first snow. We knew that on the top the weather was windy and snowing so we dressed accordingly. Unlike the bottom of the mountain where there was no snow, on its top, it was snowing and we had our first walk in the snow. We took the cable car and then we climbed the peak. It was windy and snowing, but it was an experience that we will never forget since was our first peak and it was snowing.
For sure we will come back in summer to climb it again and to enjoy the views.

Being a few days for ski in a very crowded period, we lwere skiing from Postavaru on medium and easy sloapes and the good part was: reasonable price for the ski lifts with many options, fast and well managed cable lifts, great long sloapes very well marked, good transportation mainly by shuttle buses to the skiikng area, emergency cars & teams at the base of the sloapes as well as good renting equipment facilities.
The less good: no maintenance of the sloapes holding alternatively ice and high level of snow with no intervention from the machines parked at the base of the sloapes, quite unconfortable location of the ticket office, a lot of polution from the many shutle buses gas waiting with the working engines for the touristst to go up and down.

The mountain is beautiful (of course you can find in Romania more beautiful mountains, like Fagarasi or Piatra Craiului) and easy to climb. There are a lot of roads to climb the mountain, with different dificulties deegre. For a normal person, you should try the red cross road (through the forest) or the red road. The Postavaru Cabin is almost in the top and from there you can see very nice landscape and you can eat a decent food at decent prices. The final part of climbing is more dificult, so you should have mountain boots, no sneakers. The view from the top is spectacular and 360° so you can see all the mountains around (Bucegi, Fagarasi, Piatra Craiului, Neamtului etc) and the cities below (Brasov, Sacele, Predeal etc). You must try it.

We took the cable car, hoping to get a sunny summer view over Poiana Braşov and beyond, and we got a treat. Only some mist when we got out of the cable car, but then we descended 20 minutes to Postavarul , or Julius Romer Hutte.
Nice surprise there: great atmosphere inside, yummy food, friendly service, a lot of languages spoken around, excellent free WiFi, spectacular views from the top, cold beer, reasonable prices (still, 2-4 times less than in similar mountain places in Switzerland, Austria etc).
50 minutes from there downhill to Poiana Braşov, on the Drumul Rosu (“red road”).

Mountain Postavaru is the mountain at whose basis there is the most important and most famous ski resort of Romania,Poiana Brasov; Mountain Postavaru which has it's highest peak at about 1,850 meters has all important ski slopes of Poiana Brasov which total a distance of about 26 kilometers; here are also all of the cable cars and ski lifts of Poiana Brasov ; here we also find the most spectacular and difficult ski slope the Lulului slope which is a typical downhill slope resembling to those of Germany,Austria ,Italy and France; in the Mountsin Postavaru there is also a pretty big chalet with rooms to rent,food and drink and a very good stopover for those who are skiing,especially for tea and hot wine; as it has a good location,on nice sunny days there is a very good possibility of getting brown from the alpine sun ; the skiing season is approximately from mid December to the end of March; a skiing day may cost about 30-40 euro fro cable car and ski lifts ;

We took the ride up and walked down the mountain trail. It's a challenging slope. The view is spectacular. I highly recommend it during the summer/spring

Even if you are not a great skier, it is worth visiting and seeing even if only from telegondola. They also had paragliding from Mount Postavarul, and on the clear day parachuting over Postavarul is unforgettable experience. It is breathtaking place, any season!
