Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to visit if you're in the area. Good presentation on boards written in Romanian and English. Small eruptions happen continuously and due to the clay and mud being forced out by the Sulphurous gas, the landscape continuously changes. Very small entrance fee and ample parking is available, as is a restaurant. Best to go when it is dry.

Beautiful place in the heart of the nature: lunar landscape, natural trenches, specific flora and fauna. I never get tired of the scenery. Unfortunately for some years now you can only visit them for a fee, without any further improvements. Do not attempt to visit them in the rainy season. they are not called muddy volcanoes for no reason. And go to both volcanic areas, 2 km away, but totally different landscapes.

From a geological point of view this place is really awesome. But as a tourist attraction it may not offer enough for everyone. There are 2 sites: big ("paclele mari") and small ("paclele mici"). Everyone goes to the big ones, but the more beautiful and interesting ones are the small ones. The big ones are composed of 2-3 craters and were not very active when we visited, but are more accesible because there is less walking to do, but they are also the more crowded ones. The small ones are composed out of many volcanoes, were very active and are less crowded, but involve a 10 min climb up a hill. Would recommend visiting as a half a day trip, maybe eating at the big ones; there is a good restaurant there. There is no restaurant at the small ones. There are toilets at both sites, but are not very nice. Free parking available both sites. There's a camping and trailer park near the small ones. Accessible by car only (or private / organized tour).

Easy to access mud volcanoes in Romanian district of Buzau. The only place in Europe to find this kind of volcanoes.Parking facilities available. Road through mountain area mostly ok, some parts of the road are a bit rough.

We were in the area for other attractions, so we were glad we visited this place. Just 4 Lei to enter. However, it is not worth a long trip out to this remote site unless you have another reason to be in the area. We combined this with the Salt Mine and a lunch with a local family, so the volcanos were worth the stop.

Although due to the slow moving nature of the 'volcanoes', there is not a huge amount of activity, it is still definitely worth a visit!

...and very educational for children.

The mud vulcanoes is of course interesting and was nice to see, but it is rather quick to explore. It is basically bubbling mud. Interesting landscape has been shaped and was interesting to walk on. The roads from Buzau is ok for a while and then turn very bumpy, so drive slowly.
