Historic Pub in the heart of Gosport, named after the sadly long defunct junction where the Stokes Bay branch deviated from the main Gosport branch. Don't expect food beyond crisps and nuts, but excellent real ales and ciders, a friendly welcoming atmosphere and a very well stocked juke box.

On my bucket list of pubs I should visit. There aren't many that I haven't visited in Gosport and this one has a good reputation for it's beer. Bus stops just up the road. I had 30 minutes and in that time I gathered enough to realise this is a very welcoming pub, as pubs used to be, with real... More

Great venue if you like your ale like me! Always seems to be something new on pump and the lady behind the bar knows her stuff. I forget the names of the ales I had now but the first was an easy blonde and the other was some form of chocolatey infusion. Very odd but nice. Finished with an old,... More

This is a fantastic real ale pub where the same beer is never on twice. The ales are always very well kept and although there are only three beer engines, there is always a complementry selection. The annual Easter beer festival is always very well stocked with a very wide selection of good quality beers and ciders. You will never... More

For a small pub, this one really has an excellent beer festival on an Easter Bank Holiday. We went Saturday afternoon and it was crowded, but comfortably so. It didn't take too long to get a seat. As well as three hand pumps on the bar they had 10 casks on stillage. All the ale prices had been rounded down... More

Had a great evening in what is a proper traditional corner pub. The real ale is excellent and the landlady is getting into the CAMRA Good Beer Guide since taking over a few years ago. I noticed the ale lines being cleaned between every cask change which is a refreshing sight and anyone that looks after their ale that well... More
