Walked through on Hadrians Wall walk. A good place to look at the wall if you have a small amount of time. Well looked after and typical of the rest

This seemed to be the easiest trailhead access to Hadrian's wall that i could find from my place in Whitfield. Early on a Sunday morning (7am-ish) I had it all to myself.

We enjoyed walking by the wall near here. We did 2.5 miles eastwards then back again. Lots of ups and downs but do take refreshments as you cannot buy anything en route. Views are as good as anywhere!

We passed through Cawfields milecastle while walking to Steel Rigg on our Hadrian's Wall walk last summer. Very popular with day trippers as there is a car park and picnic site at the flooded quarry. In the summer you could get the bus to Birdoswald...More

Early morning walk up haltwhistle burn to cawfields on the roman wall. Lovely and peaceful , fantastic views on a clear day. Great starting point for walking to housesteads via the sill

We walked up Haltwhistle Burn to Cawfields and back to the campsite. Great walk and a fabulous section of Hadrians Wall. Sunny day too.
