Black Rock Sands are accessed by road from the centre of Porthmadog. For £5 for the day you can take you car down onto the sands which is handy with young children and if you wish to have a picnic.

One of the best best beaches I have visited! Lovely sand and sea the sand dunes are lovely and the fact you can drive onto the beach and park for £5 all day is a bonus! Anyone visiting the area would recommend a visit!

I've been to some lovely beaches around the world; South beach, Miami is fabulous, the Algarve is stunning but this beach in North Wales has a natural beauty that overwhelmed me. It's a huge sandy beach you drive onto - £5 for the day. Dunes...More

Lovely beach, expansive and patrolled by maritime authorities which is a good thing considering the areas to launch boats and sea-doos from the beach. £5 parking charge for all day is reasonable as you can come and go as you please, so I don't get...More

Lovely clean beach with beautiful views. We camped right by the beach on Black Rock Camping and touring site, would definitely recommend. Nice calm sea for swimming.

The beach is. We went in the winter. So I don't know if there is any restrictions in high season. We didn't try any pubs with the dogs but I should imagine most are. It's a wonderful beach. I'm definitely going back x
