Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Summergate winery

Smoke hung in the air the day we decided to visit SummerGate Winery. They definitely have a lot of seating outside, with many picnic tables, spaced evenly across the fresh cut green grass.
Laura poured our wine. I’ll note that this is a certified organic winery.
This is a pleasant experience where you can sit outside at a picnic table, utilize the sun umbrella for some shade, and await your flight of six tasty wines to arrive.
When they get here, you enjoy a brief description of each wine, some detail about the organic certification, and then you are left to take in the views of the valley, orchards, and in our case, a little bit of wildfire smoke hanging in the air.
It’s a good winetasting experience. If you prefer being served your flight, then left alone to enjoy yourself, and the wine

Personally, I prefer the banter from time to time with the person pouring wine as questions arise about the winery, history, family history, trials and tribulations of viticulture or wine making. But the absence of staff during the tasting did not take away from the experience. It was worth the trip.

The 2022 Muscat Ottonel was a highlight of the tasting experience for me. If you enjoy good ‘old grape juice’, visit this winery.

This family-run winery has it all. Outstanding organic white wines, a beautiful location, and delicious food-truck food. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it is a great place to go for poutine or a burger and glass of wine on the their patio while enjoying the view. The owner and winemaker really knows her craft and her husband and children are all involved in the business. Not many wineries can afford free tastings anymore, and Summergate charges $10 for the equivalent of a glass of wine, served in 5 glasses. No reservations required and a much more authentic experience than the larger wineries in Kelowna. We will be returning for more as soon as we can.

Totally agree with the previous review.
We are from Kamloops and looked forward to taking our family who are from Victoria, to SummerGate. Very disappointing that when we arrived, we saw that the tasting fee was not redeemable on purchase. We turned around and left. The winery potentially lost over $100 worth of sales.

We understand that all wineries are recovering from the last two years of the Covid pandemic but this should not be the way to do it. Perhaps state that the tasting fee is redeemable on TWO bottles purchased.

We went to Moraine Estate Winery in Naramata - the experience with Tanya was amazing and we bought 1.5 cases of wine.

This a good little winery that we have visited for over ten plus years watching the family and winery grow , they make great wine unfortunately they have gotten greedy and are now charging a $10 non refundable on purchase tasting fee . So now that $26 bottle of white is now $36 sorry the wine is not good for that cost. We have no problem with tasting fees that are refundable on purchase. However this is too bad that they have gone this route we will miss visiting

We loved the relaxed vibe of this winery! It was such a lovely chilled out experience. My partner and I are not massive white wine drinkers, but the wines we sampled here were so nice we bought a bottle of Riesling to take home!

I run into this winery by accident after a hike in the area. Very friendly and personal reception by the owner and his wife. Had a nice introduction and lovely (white only) wine tasting. The wines they produce are all very nice. Absolutely go there.

The people behind this winery have extensive experience in the local wine scene. This experience can be tasted when you sample their fantastic wines. Sarah poured our wines today. She was very friendly, and more importantly, very knowledgeable, not just about the wines available at this winery, but others as well.
If you are in the area looking for a good wine tasting experience, visit this winery.

My favorite Okanagan white wines come from here, love them all, but particularly the Riesling. Great family, great views at the tasting room to take in as you enjoy a glass. Their first red will be harvested this year, cant wait.
