We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable, articulate & aware of cultural difference & language barriers. The cave was a site to behold with lots of different formations. The glow worms were alive & present ( looking like a 1000 stars in the night sky). The paths were well lighted at the appropriate time & navigable for... More

Amazing experience. Well worth a visit. Our tour guide, Logan, was very knowledgeable. It was obvious he knew everything about the caves & was very passionate about them. We loved every minute. Great place to visit for all ages.

You see the most of the limestone, stalactites, stalagmites, and glow worms with this tour. Many of the tours give you the same info, so you may as well see the best one.

Ruakuri cave is bigger than Waitomo cave so if you can't decide pick Ruakuri. You'll be able to see ceilings filled with glowing worms as well. Blackwater rafting is definitely something worth trying, unforgettable adventure and fun is guaranteed! Expensive but worth it!

Going inside was a nice cool down after waiting in the sun. Our guide brought us down a spiral pathway to see stallagmites and stallactites of different formations. There were a few glow-worms to see. It was very interesting to learn about the life-cycle of the glow worms and their bioluminescence abilities.

We visited three caves and the glow worm experience whilst in Waitomo. While I would recommend each of these on its own merits this was an experience that took things to another level. In particular, our group was small in size and our guide demonstrated a genuine passion and enthusiasm for his job. A must do!

Thoroughly enjoyed our day at the only wheelchair accessible cave in the southern hemisphere. Our tour guide Ruby was wonderful and offered to help my husband push me back up the spiral pathway on the way out of the cave (which he accepted!) Perfect not only for someone in a wheelchair but for the elderly too.

This was the second cave on our three-cave tour schedule at Waitomo. The cave itself is great, although in places the walkway infrastructure is very intrusive. The main problem was the presentation - the group was too large and we were hustled along too fast because there were other groups (perhaps too many?) coming along behind us. After this tour,... This cave tour lasted about 2 hours and had everything, glow worms, incredible stalactites and stalagmites, fossils and more. If you only have time or money for one tour this is the best.

Enjoyable tour, the guide was very knowledgable. It was great to get so close to the glowworms. Most fun
