Our tours are friendly, informative and fun. With no more than 12 people on board, raft beneath many thousands of fabulous glowworms to see them at their very best. We visit private caves away from the regular, more commercial tours. Our caves are on a beautiful hill country farm and your guide is also your host, so expect a really enjoyable and memorable tour of our two magical caves.

Our tour guide met us at the General Store and then drove us about 20 minutes to the first of two cave sites. Note that the caves are located on a working farm, so there's a lot of stepping around sheep dung and the like. But the setting is beautiful. I don't think New Zealand can take a bad picture.... I went on this tour at the end of December and had a ball. Walking through the well maintained cave paths and seeing the stalactites and stalagmites was pretty cool, but then when you go deeper and the lights went out the glow worms were amazing. The tour consisted of meeting at the office in waitomo where there is a... More

Went with family - is a privately owned cave that has a gentle boat float showing the cave's features and glow worms. Our guide Norm was informative and fun. We think it might have been best tour we were on in New Zealand.

We found this company a little by accident whilst trying to find something a little different from the main mass tour. They run small 10-12 people groups to some spectacular caves. First is a walk through some beautiful caves and you see some glow worms, the next cave is on a boat and the sights are absolutely spectacular. Throughout the... More

Fantastic event where we saw the 2 caves and the cave tour by dinghy was really excellent. Our friends and godchildren were spell bound. This is my 2nd time back and my wife's 3rd. The tour is an excellent way to prove that NZ is just as beautiful below ground and not just above! Personally a small group is great,... More

There’s a reason that they have such high ratings on tripadvisor – they’re great. They have private access to a set of caves in the area that's owned by a local farmer, so there are not hoards of people, and you get a very personal experience. Each group is 12 people and one guide, so you get to ask as... More

The whole 3 hours for the 15 minutes boat ride under a galaxy of glow worms, worth it! What I liked about this tour was the small group of people on it. We went on a very busy day Dec 29th, there were 12 people on the tour and we didn't see any other group in any of the caves... More

While in Hamilton for a family Christmas, all ten of us, including our four grandchildren aged 8 to 4.5 years went on a wonderful tour to two caves in the Waitomo area. The tour was aptly called Spellbound. For 30 mins we travelled slowly through the cave in a boat with a huge avenue of glow worm lights, only a... More

I was desperate to visit the glow worm caves but didn't want to be stuck with another 50 tourists so this was the perfect trip for us. With a small group of only 12 we headed out to a different cave to the main tourist attraction. Set in a farm out of the town this cave did not disappoint. It... More

We took this tour as we wanted to avoid the crowds. It did the job. This tour avoids the caves where all the bus loads go and you visit a less visited cave. However there is no shortage of glow worms. The tour includes a ride on a boat, in silence and complete darkness. A magical experience. There was only... More
