Sal island has some kind of desert in the north. You can see and feel here real mirage. If you are passing by it is worth to see. Otherwise not so much other to see and there are also some slums areas nearby which are really not so nice and neighbourhood looks not so safe.

The hottest place on the island, and the only reason to visit is to see the mirage, but it is quite an experience to basically think you are seeing water but it is actually a reflection of the sky!

Driving over Terra Boa we stopped to see the mirage. It was a real first time experience. Rough desert terrain.

The mirage is definitely worth a look. You just won't be lucky enough to see her somewhere and leave. Only if you're in a dry desert.
