The market is the best way to mingle with the locals. We loved chatting to the owners of Karoo Coffee and hearing about how they made the switch from city to country living. You can also get local produce at a fraction of the price here. The book stand is also a must see for great kiddies and adult reads.

We were in Montagu for a few days anyway, so we visited the market. It was much smaller than we had anticipated - so there was not much choice to buy. Maybe our expectations had been too high. We finally had a very good pancake each and went to see the African Ibis near the pond a mere 100m away.

I'm a food person so even though there are some lately crafts on sale, I didn't pay much attention as I was immediately sucked in to the... More

This tiny little market that is held every Saturday is so lovely that it has become a little trip that we go on when ever we are there. You can take your dogs and pets and there is amazing food that you can eat.

We stopped by when walking to an ATM. Nice selection of local food and crafts. I was real impressed by the frames made by Suzie and Nigel and purchased as many as we could stuff in our luggage - great job guys! This Saturday market is lovely and we always enjoy spending money on the local artists, farmers, and bakers.... More
