We had three nights at Gondwana Lodge. From arrival to departure we were treated like royalty - from hot hand towels every time you arrive at the lodge, to welcome drinks after every evening safari. The accommodation was lovely and all the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay so so special. All the food was first class -... More

We stayed for 3 nights which was perfect. We were in room 9 and it was just perfect, great views and lots of space. Food and staff were lovely. Our ranger Nikos was great, very knowledgeable and really made the effort to show us as much as we could in the time we were there. We saw Elephants, Lions, Giraffes,... More

My wife and I spent 3 amazing nights at Sanbona and absolutely loved every second there. All the staff were so welcoming and informative and the guides were knowledgeable, polite and charming- especially Roman who looked after us each day. We rose each morning at 5am for a 5.30am start and tracked a large variety of animals including amazing White... More

The experience is first class. A warm welcome from your first encounter at the welcome Lodge to your transfer back. The staff aim to please and are warm and convivial. The Safari ranger was Roman who was helpful and knowledgeable and seemed to have the knack of putting us in the right place at the right moment in time. We... More

Sanbona wildlife reserve, a private concession that gave us 3 full days of grand style safari. The bounty of finding all of the lions, tawny and white, an amazing herd of elephants, many rhino, the two female cheetah and all at very close quarter. The guiding was excellent, Jannie was our guide, and we had some of the most amazing... More

During a recent trip to SANBONA, we were pleasantly surprised when we were treated like royalty, from the time of our arrival, until we left. The staff were found to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. Whilst being safari driven around the reserve, we were able to see quite a variety of animal species (even an ever elusive brown hyena), including... More

This was the highlight of our honeymoon. From arriving at the gate to the game drives the attention from staff was excellent. This is clearly a well thought through operation where the team really care about the conservation of animals and it allows the animals to roam freely over a huge area. We had Owen as a guide and he... More

The reserve in the Little Karoo (semi-desert region) is huge; it took an hour over a dirt road to drive from the entrance to our lodging. Most guests appeared to utilize a van provided by the reserve to make this trip but we drove our rental car to the lodge. Because the road was dirt, although well maintained, we felt... More

Our stay at sanbona completely blew us away! It was the most perfect honeymoon experience - the setting was idyllic in the middle of the wild with absolute tranquility; the tents were complete luxury; the rangers were extremely knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure we saw as much as we could including a cheetah and lions. I... More
