I have only been here at the end of rainy season, so the crowds are not around. Beautiful beach-found sand dollars, pink shells. One of my favorite places to get away.

Nice very long and wide soft sandy beach. Very warm water (28C), nice gradual slope to enter ocean. No bedrock where we were. Has a Parking area with garbage cans ur no washrooms. Learned to surf here. Waves are constant and kids (ages 9 &12) played in them for hours. Not crowded at all. We only saw 10 people or... More

Good for beginning surfing, boogie boarding, or playing in the water. No services available. Short road to beach looks like a river bed, but keep going. There is parking once you get to the beach.

Although this is not a beach for swimming, it is a great place to spend the day as it has great views. the sand is a fine black sand and the waves are awesome to watch. You will often see great surfers riding the waves. If you are an advanced surfer then that's even better as you can catch some... More

Much preferred this beach to the beaches in Santa Teresa....less busy and in my opinion more scenic. You can hire surf boards for $10 for the day and there's a great cafe serving delicious food at lunch time. The beach is a bumpy15 minute drive from Santa Teresa.

One of the best beaches in this area....we had a great time surfs and drone videos here..yes the waves here are 4-7 foot high. You just might even see a famous football star and his wife on the beach riding horses..

Playa Hermosa lays south of Jaco Beach about 20 minutes drive. The beach itself is pretty secluded, dirt road takes you to surfer's Paradise, Waves are high enough to surf, but not crazy dangerous like a few miles north at Crazy Rocks Surf place. Every Saturday around 5 pm they have Surf Competition on Playa Hermosa, as we heard great... More
