As a total novice to board sports, I thought stand up paddling would be the way to go on my first trip to Costa Rica. After two great SUP sessions, first on flat water, then on the ocean swells, I decided to try surfing. Juan got me immediately riding the waves with consistency and confidence! And I'm a senior citizen!!... More

Juan took us from our hotel in Santa Teresa to paddle on the Manzanillo River and out in the ocean. He was very patient and helpful and we had a great time. His boards were great and we even had cold water and watermelon after our paddle. I highly recommend it!

Juan was a great instructor! We had a stand up paddle board lesson arranged through our hostel and had such a great time that we arranged multiple surfing lessons afterwards. We were all at different beginner levels and he worked well with each of us. He was personable and patient. He customized our lessons to each individual in the group... More

Juan picked our small group of four up from the hostel and drove us to the beach in his pick-up, with four boards on the roof. After... More

I was in Santa Teresa for a surf camp but had always wanted to try SUP. My hostel called Juan's Natura Surf Life to arrange it and what i got was a special, individualized experience. Even though it was a last minute call, Juan was willing to do a one-on-one lesson with me, on both still water and in a... More

I'd been surfing before and was looking for an advanced lesson or really someone to help me understand the waves and which ones to choose. I was lucky that Juan was available on such shirt notice and it was an amazing lesson! I learnt more of the basics which I thought I'd all known and had one of the best... More

I was inspired to do my best with the lesson and grateful for the tips Juan and the others provided. THANK YOU for a successful lesson-- we all... More

We were blessed with the teaching and guidance of Juan, Bruno, and Michelle this morning. They are awesome! Very patient and a ton of fun. I warn you though, if you're a beginner like me and somewhat competitive, you will find surfing to be addictive. Enjoy!
