A very interesting place to find fresh fruits and vegetables that are cultivated by the locals, as well as beautiful plants and flowers of the country. You can also find souvenirs, snacks and much more at this nice and warm spot. This is the first stop you can do when you go to the town and provide yourself with food... More

Great to see the local crafts and a little of the real Panama experience. Great souvenirs at reasonable prices!

A good way to spend an hour or two. Local crafts and garden goods. Vendors had all the usual souvenirs. Some cheap some authentic. You'll feel good supporting the locals!

All kinds of handcrafts by indigenous peoples are for sale on Sunday at the market as well as all kinds of plants, all kinds of fruits. Beautiful molas that require hours of needle work. These can be made into clothing such as handbags, framed for art, made into pillow cases, etc. In the same area we had a mud facial... More

We enjoyed strolling through the market and interacting with the locals. Try the different fruits and homemade candies. Buy a craft or two. Nothing is expensive but its the livelihood of the locals. A wood carved bowl-beautiful work. Baskets. Trinkets. A lovely way to "see" the country.

We visited on a Thursday which we knew would mean that the market would not be in full swing. However, even with these lowered expectations we still came away completely unimpressed as many stalls appeared to have the same merchandise.

A few places that sell the same products. Nothing artistic about them. We went on a Sunday hopping for a lot more. It took us a very short while to figure out that we have nothing to look for there. Disappointment.

Take a leisurely stroll through the Mercado de El Valle any day of the week, but Sunday's are the best. Handcrafts, Molas, paintings, baskets, hats, purses, etc...and yes...some low price point items. You'll also find a huge variety of fruits, veggies, plants, flowering orchids and a festive atmosphere. Be sure to go back behind the market, because on weekends, the... More

Its probably bigger on Sundays but they also have lots if vendors during the week. Lots of fresh fruit was available. Unfortunately no fresh drinks.
