Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the hard history of mining on the island through samples of minerals and their use in the industry. We also watched the documentary movie with real miners and their stories about tough work in the mines. For people who are interested in history and geology, it is a nice experience.

My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Milos - staying at the excellent Aeolis Boutique Hotel (Revrew to follow) and - more out of curiosity than anything else - earlier this morning we visited the Milos Mining Museum.

I’m glad we did as - besides being open on a Sunday morning (more than can be said for the Tourist Information Office!) and paying our 3 Euros Seniors) Entry fee - we were treated to two floors of well displayed exhibits and a series of very interesting documentaries in the Basement area.

All in all, this was a most enjoyable experience that took the best part of an hour to absorb all that was on offer. I would certainly recommend this Attraction to other visitors if, of course, they can find time in between visiting all the lovely beaches this Island has to offer!

A cute little museum showcasing the geological and mining history of Milos. Bargain for €5. I learnt a lot about rocks.

It's not a huge museum, but I liked it. There's a short movie where they interviewed older people who worked in the various mines, to record authentic views before there are lost.
Interesting collection of equipment.
Never realised just how many mining sites there were on Milos, even though we had visited the huge bentonite mine earlier (google bentonite, it is used in dozens of things you have used)
Lots of beautiful samples of minerals.

It is a small very tidy new museum which cleverly displays the amazing varieties of all minerals metals and each reaches found in Milos . If you do not visit this Museum YOU CANNOT IMAGINE AND REALIZE THE RICHES AND DIVERSITY OF earth layers found in such a small island . Unbelievable

Very nice museum and an excellent example of science communication. Should visitors be interested in the geology of the island, I would recommend to people to visit it early on their trip so that they can recognise the rocks and formations they see later on. Otherwise, the uses of the mined materials is a very interesting topic in the modern world.

We were on an organized tour of the island which included a visit to this museum. It is a nicely curated and informative museum, especially given its compact size. One gets a glimpse of the geologic origins of Milos; the sociological, economic, and technological aspects of mining; and the various minerals which can be found on Milos.

Very good explanations on the cards in greek and english. Go here to learn more about the geology and stone age of Milos. I'm not very interested in geology, but it was well displayed, they have beautiful stones and you understand more of the island in the end.
