The main street has a selection of amusement arcades, pubs, a few shops and a number of fish & chip shops along it's rather short stretch. There are walks across the river (illuminated at night) but very little else besides this. The Heights of Abraham are accessed by a short but scenic cable car ride at a cost of £15... More

It was a lovely summer's day so we decided to take our 8 year old grandson to Heights of Abraham. We had never been before and we were pleasantly surprised how much there was to do and see. We parked up in the large railway car park and took the cable car up. My grandson played on the superb kids... More

We had a family get-together in Matlock Bath (9 of us, all adult) and included a visit here as part of the weekend's activities. It proved to be a good choice. All enjoyed the cable car ride, the guided mine tour, and the various displays and exhibitions around the site. Good café as well. I would say that you need... More

We took our three granddaughters (aged 9, 8 and almost 7) for their first visit during October half-term week. It was a perfect day, there weren't too many people in the queue ahead of us waiting to pay and then get on the gondola. Our girls were so excited about being in a cable car and the ride across the... More

Enjoyed our visit to this attraction, the cable car is fun and lots to do once at the top. Best to do on a dry day.

Very interesting guided tour of the mine. Accessed by footpath or by relatively expensive cable car. Big queues at 4pm October half term. Allow about 20 to 30minutes in the queue.

Me and my partner visited the Heights of Abraham at the end of October - just before they closed for the winter. The views were absolutely stunning and the cable car trip from the car park made the most of the views. An adult ticket is £15 and well worth it - included in the price are two fantastic and... We were travelling from Nottingham to Manchester & came across this hidden gem. The rather strange main street had amusement arcades, a pub, a few shops & no less than eight fish & chip shops along it's rather short stretch. There are walks across the river (illuminated at night) & it seemed like some sort of funfair nearby, but we... More

A stunning area that shows some fantastic historical information If you want to visit the two mines you need to make sure you are prepared for the exercise that will be involved One mine has around 189 stairs to climb; the other is down a similar amount of steps. You will feel the effects of this! Otherwise this is a... More

All kids were under 10 and had a great time, rocks, mud, caves, sheep or goats still not sure... cafe had delicious coffee and food looked like really great... More
