About
The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath is 'open ambitious and a little bit scruffy'. You are welcome to come and visit our building on open days and heritage talks and for all our publicised events. In August 2013 the building was bought from the council by the community and is run by a local charity. The aim is to restore this amazing building and theatre. While we wait for the lottery fairy to do her thing,we are running events such as live music performances, art and heritage exhibitions, film shows and private hirings. The Pavilion is also the home of The Peak District Lead Mining Museum which is very successful, very popular and not at all scruffy !

Perfect cafe in a beautiful location.
Had the fabulous goats cheese and beetroot salad followed by the gluten free Bakewell Tart. The staff were lovely and the welcome was warm and friendly. We both really enjoyed it and the lunch kept us going for many hours, so generous were the portions.

    Scout leaders breakfast
Stopped off the the cafe on a Saturday morning. The Bacon or Sausage sandwich and a cup of tea for £6 is wonderful value. The quality of the food could not be faulted. The building is beautiful and the staff could not have been more helpful. Hope to be back for a visit soon

    A hidden little gem
We met a family member for a drink when passing through Matlock Bath and she suggested this little gem. It was near closing time but the staff, Jack & Bridie were ever so lovely and accommodating. The hot chocolate was amazing and my daughter loved the tiny marshmallows. Would highly recommend stopping by, great items on the menu and the staff went above and beyond. We will see you soon!! Thank you

Amazing people and equally amazing coffee.
I came across the cafe in the Grand Pavillion and thought it would be a good place to go for a coffee. Not only was the coffee exceedingly good (by Jack) but the service from the pair of the guys who opened was exceptional and so worth a mention. I called in later to but some of the coffee ground especially for them. Keep up the good work guys and the smiles you have carried me in my hike. ✨🙏❤️

Huge victoriana building in Matlock Bath alongside the river derwent and on the main A6 Road. Great architecture from over 100 years ago

A brilliant night at the Pavilion with Isy Suttie. With a full house, Isy attracted not only her loyal followers but fans from across the country. The material was new, held our attention throughout and made us laugh, particularly when the references were to local people and places. Her support act was really amusing too! Isy very generously donated half the takings to the Pav for continuing restoration work.

Used the cafe here yesterday and have to say it’s the best value for money and friendliest places you could ever go to! Food and drinks were great and money raised goes to refurbishing the pavilion which is a slow process for them but every little helps. Will 100% recommend and be returning
