Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are plenty of pubs in Broadstairs, each with their own unique “flavour” and atmosphere.

Whilst the pub itself is nice and the staff friendly, I see no reason why it is now charging an entry fee when there are bands playing.

I certainly won’t be returning. There are plenty of other options that are free.

Lots of screens up protecting the staff so well done for that. Friendly staff and great service. We were lucky enough to get a table by an open window so could watch the world go by. Clean toilets which is always a bonus. We had just missed the band that was playing so it was very quiet for our visit which was good for us as we were chatting.

Two brilliant evenings spent at this superb pub in the last week. Lovely landlady whom is always smiling, friendly staff and talented musicians. We really wish that this was our local, but we try to visit as much as possible still.

A bit late on the scene but that’s me all over! The Wrotham Arms’ is one of my favourite pubs in Broadstairs and the place to go for excellent music and atmosphere. Unfortunately due to lockdown this hasn’t been possible and it has been sorely missed, until that is their online virtual tribute to the BBB which was immense as the other posts below have said. Thanks to everyone involved, it really did lift the spirits and I can’t wait to get back in and see you all again :)

Barry beat me to it with his review of last weekend's entertainment, no surprise there then! It certainly was a real boost when many of us were sulking over the loss of our annual festival due to Covid. We were entertained by performers from Broadstairs to San Diego and lots of places in between! Sitting at home enjoying it in no way reflected the massive effort put in by Jackie, Frank and their small team and we are deeply indebted to them.

I anticipate that this little jewel of a pub, which always puts on fantastic live entertainment will be awash with grateful punters wanting to express their gratitude in person for last weekend's entertainment when it's allowed to reopen.

Thanks again Jackie and Co, you certainly put a smile back on our faces in the darkest of times.

For the last few years we've been going to The Broadstairs Blues Bash and our first port of call. Is always The Wrotham Arms, Jackie is a wonderful host and always has a friendly smile, so it was wonderful this year that they put on a virtual Blues Bash via their Website, some wonderful acts over three days and it didn't dissapoint.. So Thank You Jackie and The Wrotham for keeping music alive and hopefully see you soon.. XX

We thought we would pop in to this pub as it is on the next road from where we were staying. It is well done out with old fashioned floorboards, hops around the bar and LP covers from all different groups around the walls.

We had only been in there for about half an hour when they started to set up a small stage. We found out that we were going to be treated to some live music and they did not disappoint! There were 2 guys playing guitars and one playing a banjo and they were absolutely brilliant. They did their own songs and then one of the guys got out an old fashioned washboard! He also played the spoons!

All in all an enjoyable end to the afternoon

We will be back

Visited the Wrotham Arms pub in Broadstairs on a very sunny Sunday in August specifically to see a performance by the Kent folk band ‘Hot Rats’. We travelled Broadstairs by train and the pub is an easy walk from the station.
The pub is not large inside, a fairy sizable room and bar area with a small area occupied by a pool table to the rear, and initially we had some misgivings about the size of the stage area and proximity to the bar area. However with an audience line set up on seats close to the stage, the sound was not too bad. We manged to get two high stools at the bar and thus gave us a ‘grandstand’ view of the stage over the heads of those sitting on chairs in front of us.
The pub is a Shepherds & Neame pub and so has a very good range of beers available. I was drinking Whitstable Bay Stout and after the heat of the day (we had spent some time on a crowded beach), was most welcome!
The two ladies behind the bar were pleasant enough and seemed to be keeping up with the supply of drinks to what was becoming a sizable crowd watching the performance. The Hot Rats as ever gave a lively performance including renditions of favourites ‘Orange Blossom Special’ and ‘Santy Anna’ and were well received judging from the crowd response.
A nice pub with a good vibe. What I would describe as a no frills ‘town’ pub. The Wrotham Arms is obviously a venue do local bands to perform and this in itself should be applauded.

Went in by chance during a short break in Broadstairs, trying to find a place to have a drink without a football match on the TV,and boy did we strike lucky.
Old fashioned pub, very friendly staff and the best live blues music I have seen.
Playing that night was the Eric Ranzoni trio, they were better than great.
The pub has a regular timetable of live music and if you are in town,go there it is not to be missed
