Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kilometre zero is located in the central pedestrian zone of Burgas. This is a bronze relief with the directions of the world, placed on the ground at one of the intersections of the street. It was a pleasant surprise for me to see it, it is also a place for meetings and a place where you can listen to the music of street musicians.

Kilometre Zero is an Attraction in Burgas located along one of the city's large pedestrianized boulevards at a crossroads. Being resting on the ground and without any indication, it is not obvious to notice its existence. I passed over it a couple of times without noticing it, until a good City Guide took me back there and told me the story. It's useful for orientation, because, like a real compass, it indicates the cardinal points.

It is just a plaque on the street. With arrows. It is. A small shield like picturesque brass plaque with compass arrows around. But a bit more.
- It's the ideal center of the city center, everything in Burgas is measured from here on, not from the main square (few hundred meters NNW), not from municipality building (few hundred meters SSE), etc. When you see a road sign somewere in Bulgaria "XXX km to Burgas", or follow your GPS device to "Burgas" - it means and you are heading to that exact spot.
- It was nothing 5-6 years ago on that tiny crossroad, just asphalt. Then they draw the compass. There was (still is?) plumbing shaft right in the middle, where the compass was placed, but it was somewhat ugly, so nice call, whoever came with the idea of the plaque.
- And finally - a bit of twist and color on otherwise dull and ordinary spot.
Not a big deal by any means by far, but a nice touch anyway. Enough for a few seconds of "Hm?", look and a picture (selfie). And it does look good on some pictures, I guess it depends on the hand, that holds the camera :)
That's really all of it.
Onward.
PS There was a cat living on that crossroad, used to love wandering the plaque, being pictured (and fed). For a few years was an attraction as much as the compass itself. Very friendly, esp. to kids. Locals call him Snoopy, the Guardian of the Compass. There are stories of him attacking small dogs, came closely to his spot on the plaque. Last year was injured badly, by a dog, car, or random idiot - people from neighborhood took him to vet, healed him (it took about 10 days), shortly after he was adopted in Germany.

Nothing remarkable. If you go shopping in this street you see it, just a little square. Nothing happens if you do not see it.

It’s meant to be symbolic, but this town even has a three-faced clock as a monument! Nevertheless it’s an easy point of reference and you need not be proficient in Bulgarian to get locals to point it out to you.

If you visit Burgas is a must. The see is near. The park is very clean and fabulous if you want to find a quiet place, I just recommend.

Nice place in the center near to other sightseeings. It's also near the city center. I miss a small information about the kilometr zero, which could be great for children.

We visited Burgas in September as part of our TUI Excursion from the nearby resort of Sunny Beach. Burgas itself is lovely, it really feels like an old throwback to when the Communist Regime was in power in Bulgaria and as such its architecture really does show this off. As a place we found it fascinating as westerners often don't get to see up close this kind of history. However where it falls down in many ways is it's lack of activities for younger people, as well as this a number of shopkeepers attempted to not give us any change when paying for items. I feel that if you visited Kilometre Zero and Burgas with a tour guide you would get much more out of it in general. Overall I don't think that we would return to Burgas.

Walking one of the busiest streets in Bourgas we bumped onto Kilometre zero and honestly there is not much to see. Just a nice landmark in the centre of the street.

We were walking, looking for the Black Sea. Shops, coffee places, etc... Everything around... and out of nowhere, here we are, and not even looking for it... and is the main street to find everything, so you wont miss it.

Hi far from sunny beach square ( party square )

There's a fairly frequent bus that goes from Sunny Beach to Burgas, which is a lovely town to explore. It takes about 30 minutes and is very inexpensive. Well worth going, it's very different from Sunny Beach, much more Bulgarian, and much more to see and do. Highly recommended.
