We visited the cathedral during the day and were impressed with the leadlighted windows and also some of the old frescos dotted around the interior of the church. Walking through the cloisters was a peaceful experience. We learned that most nights during summer the cathedral is lit up with accompanying music, so we made the journey back to the cathedral... More

This church had services while we were there and children receiving Confirmation. Lovely to see families together after services taking pictures. Great experience!

This cathedral is awe inspiring. Unexpectedly huge for a town the size of Toul. Wonderful stained glass windows for me were the highlight.

The Cathedral was built in about 1500 and has splendid architecture, particularly outside, although by the standards of many French cathedral it is not richly decorated inside being nice rather than stunning. The history underfoot with many tombs on the floor are interesting The cloisters with their impressive gargoyles are unusual and worth a visit. There is no English language... More

On the main road between Metz and Nancy it is worthwhile to make a deviation of about 20 KM toward the town of Toul. Toul is mainly an industrial town, but in the centre you'll discover a great surprise, a gorgeous cathedral. Saint Etienne Cathedral in Toul is a wonderful gothic cathedral, one of the most impressive of its kind.... More
