Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice caves. Can be hard on places. Worth coming this way with a fantastic view, would definitely recommend.

Very nice and central beach. But in August it is full of people and becomes very chaotic. We enjoyed this beach during the night hours, as it is well lit. It is useful to take a pair of shoes for the sea with you because there are stones under the water.

Beach area with sunbeds
Food stall and cold beers available.
Very stoney beach so beach shoes required if you want to go into the water.

Staying at Polignano and looking for a beach we arrived at cala paura.. it has an interesting closed bay area where it is nice to swim and you can rent a seat and an umbrella. There’s also a snack bar and a toilet but no shower unfortunately..
Be prepared for a sardine-experience so don’t come here if you like space around you.
When we were leaving the seat renters almost chased us away.. not a customer centric approach.. We paid 18€ for 2 beds and an umbrella..

I was there in early June. It was packed with younger Italians. If you are prepared to muck in it is a good cultural experience seeing them having fun. The water was cool but comfortable and provided for great swimming across the bay. On the south side of the bay you can jump 1 metre to enter the water without having to slip over rocks and there is also an exit point there provided you have basic fitness.

This beach is definitely on Instagram top list since it offers such gorgeous landscape of the clear water in the middle of 65 feet limestone cliffs. Super super gorgeous and very busy on the weekends.
However, the beach is not sandy. There are small rocks and very uncomfortable for laying and enjoying your sunbathing time. Even in the water, the ground is rocky and at times very sharp. I suggest you wearing water shoes or swim in order not to walk on the ground.

For those who love rocks it's fine, otherwise take care, there is literally no sand there. Come prepared with the the special shoes, otherwise you risk accidents.

In the weekend the beach is extremely crowded so plan coming to the beach as early as possible.

Water quality is not the best. I've seen quite a few beaches in Puglia, both rocky and sandy, but unfortunately this was the dirtiest. I am not exaggerating, things were floating into the water.

We couldn't find any showers or toilets.

Fun for fishing and in summer must be great for swimming and snorkeling. Veri quiet in april, as not so many tourists find the place

This is a very nice small beach about 10 minutes from the main beach in town. Neither was very crowed when we visited in October.
