This was a brilliant day out on the Cavalier! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the port, we were travelling on the boat for one and a half hours before stopping at a reef that no other boats were fishing on - also amazing scenery fishing in front of dramatic cliffs. We all got rods to catch bait fish so everyone caught something and you always had something to do. The captain is very knowledgable and helpful and we were given lunch and drinks. My boyfriend caught an impressive dorado which topped the day off. November isn’t the best time to catch the big game fish, so we would definitely go again as this boat catches some awesome fish and is very well set up.

I booked this trip as I always try to go fishing wherever I go on holiday and looked up for a trip online before I got here and I got picked up at 8:20 am and got took down to the port ready for a days fishing ( trolling for what ever bites) lol . The guy in charge let’s me know what to do when we get a hook up and told me that my rod number is 4 and if it goes off then we all help to get the other rods in and go from there ! The bout can take 10 people but was lucky to only have 5 people on the day ! The first chance was by a German man who got knocked off by a Marlin then the next hook up was for a boy of about 12 who sat in the chair and got clipped in but as he sat down my line went off and we both were fighting big eye tuna ! I was being moved all around the boat by mine but eventually we both got them onboard and I was knackard but well happy 👍 Great boat Great team and a Great day had by all . If I come back to the canaries then I’ll definitely come back on this boat thanks for the memories from Lee Webb

Last week of November 2020. Many catches of snappers, murene and trumpet fish. Crew and owner Hans were very friendly and helpful. Despite the difficult current the crew did their best to catch the best by trawl fishing and bottom fishing. My father and I knew that tuna and merlin are more in summer times. Therefore it was a lovely day at sea with good price-quality. We also liked the contact with Hans before and after the trip.

I booked a fishing trip trom Hans Kruit to Cavalier on 14.2. The pick up was 8.20 and the driver was waiting as agreed. I was taken to Port of Puerto Rico. On The Port we found outi that the boat was overbooked for 11 peaple while there was places for onko 10. Hans asked me to go to other boat that was Leaving. I said that I don't want to do that as I jaa Been fishing with Cavalier before really like The Cree and wanted to fish with yhen again. He was offering me a trip another day, but that was not possible either as this was my only possible opportunity for fishing. He did'n apologize the mistake that happened or offered any kind of comoensation. I asked why I have to stay behind although I have booked the trip already 29.1. two weeks ago. He lied to me that I was the last to make a reservation, which I knew was totally BS as I discussed with one of the other attendees on the car who said to me that he got the place on a last minute and had to cancel jos dolphin safari trip. When I said to Hans that I want my money back, an apology and some comopensation for my ruined fishing trip. Hans got mad hit my money to the table and announced that I can do what I want he is leaving now. So there I was kilometers away from my hotel with no fishing trip and no ride back. This was the worst customer service I have ever gotten and I advice that you never reserve a trip from Hans.

Dear Petteri,
Unfortunately I am also a person who can make a mistake. For the over booking I have therefore myself immediately apologized.
I have offered you to fish on another boat, which offer you refused.
I have also offered you, to bring you back to your hotel and to enjoy your fishing day the next day on the Cavalier. But you also refused this. You didn't even want to accept your already paid 70 euros?
Again very annoying that you couldn't fish on our boat Cavalier.
I find your review far below all levels and this also shows clearly what kind of person you are.
Have a nice holiday

I would highly recommend booking a day’s sea fishing on this boat! We were picked up from the hotel which was a bonus. The captain was such a great guy with ample knowledge. Loads of fish caught across the boat and I had the pleasure of catching a hard-fighting Dorado, which was a first for me and it was amazing. The fish was jumping at range and was stripping lots of line. Massive thanks to the captain for this capture and I’ll definitely be back for the tuna next year!

Be wary of photos! that's the boat but they load 10 customers at the same time, giving each one a rod. Bottom line: 10 people don't know where to sit (and they can't stand up) and for 6 hours they continue to trawl in front of Puerto Rico. Bottom fishing or other fishing is not possible. Deadly boredom to then not eat anything and not see a single meal under a crazy sun. Furthermore, if you book for more than one day on the first day they ask for advance payment for all future days to prevent customers from running away.

Heartbreaking and non enjoyable experience for a fishing and nature loving human.
I was sceptic because of all these comments and told the owners exactly what I wanted to do. No trolling for marlin. Just spinning for barras and bonitos. So they put me on a bottom fishing trip with the crew of blue marlin 3, telling me i would have good chances, which the captain later denied.
The crew hasn't spoken a word to the guest, no: "hola, today we go out fishing for.... On... Meters." Nothing. Horrible for someone who is doing tourist fishing trips for a living.
We drove out about 500m straight from the harbor, anchored and never changed places even if nothing was caught besides 2 stingrays and a sea turtle.
They swallow the hooks and are just cut of with the hooks left in the animal. Seems to be common practice. I was told and shown that they use special hooks that are non toxic, which i want to mark as a positive thing.
Worst thing for me was that they clean out the bait boxes with a good sip of chlorine cleaner. Shaking it and dumping it straight to the ocean where they use to fish every day. Very very harmful for any water organism! Also one of the crew members dumped his cigarettes in the sea and made fun of me when I told him to stop it.
Gear was old and rumbly. Boat was clean and in good condition.
I told the owners later and they seem to be sorry for that, but as you can read here on Google, this problems are there for a long time and don't seem to be fixed. Business is running to good i think.
To anyone who wants to book a fishing trip: be critic and careful what you support with your money.
To the owners: please change your practice and see this as a chance. You have an interest in happy customers and a clean and fishrich ocean.
Please notice that I can only speak for my experience with blue marlin 3 - bottom fishing.

Can’t fault this trip it was amazing, me and my boyfriend ended up doing a second trip the day after because we loved the first one, lovely people on the boat and they were honest about what we could catch that day. Although they had a really bad season for fishing we still managed 3 rays, a tuna and 2 barracuda along with many little fish. The second day we saw two sharks take the bait but sadly they got away. Would deffo recommend!

Crew left us all day and stayed upstairs
Didn’t teach us anything about fishing...
Didn’t show us how the rods works or chat to us
Just left us for 6 hours
6 hours, and 1 bite. There was 9 rods in.
They didn’t change technique of fishing despite no luck with fish.
It was a waste of money
Sandwich was below standard.
Do not book if you want to learn anything about fishing

Hello Josh,
thank you so much for your nice and friendly review.
What a bad luck that the crew wasn't friendly on your trip?
And they did not even teach you the working of the fishing gear?
And also your sandwich was below standard1?
Unbelievable what an off day for you and your girlfriend.
Because she wrote here nice review here below.
Next time when you are on board we will put 10 rods in, instead of 9.
You never know?
Have a nice life and take care of your heart.

No pleasure in this method of fishing where the rod is given to you exclusively to get the fish out. No pleasant feeling of fishing where you feel in your rod the fish chomping on the bait before swallowing it. The action of taking out the catch yourself is at the total discretion of the guide who does not deprive himself of royally serving his friends and other acquaintances. I strongly advise against real fishing enthusiasts

Hi what happens to the fish you catch?
Do you sell it to restaurants or do you release them?
Planing to go to maspalomas end of february

Hi there! A few questions: What kind of fishing do you offer in mid february? Is it possible to join others on a day trip if you are only 1-2 persons? What is typically the cost pr. person for a day trip/half day trip? Is it normally rough sea during this time of year? BR Magnus Due

Hi there, few questions i wanted to ask. What kind of fishing is on offer for September. I'm out here for holiday now and would love to catch a marline and tuna but would also like to try for wide variety of species. Also how rough does it get when trolling as I do get a bit sea sick. How long are the trips and cost? Many thanks
Written 5 September 2019
In september we are trolling for Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado.... etc. For seasick tablets we advice Biodramine with cafeïne. For sale by the pharmist here in Gran Canaria. Trips are from 9 a.m till 3 p.m and the costs are 80 1 rod, 140 2 rods. Your welcome. Hans. Cavalier Fishing Charters

Hallo, ik heb zojuist een vistripje geboekt via tripadvisor. Op 12 augustus heb ik er alle vertrouwen in dat ik een topdag ga beleven. Zin in!
