We visited when in the area for a few days and taking a walk around Teignmouth. Sadly the grand pier is far from grand and is in need of a large amount of investment as it is definitely looking its age. There are better things to do in and around Teignmouth.

Firstly what I love about this pier is that it's old and offers lots of old arcade games that you played as a child, the Traffic light machines have been their since the 1950's or before. (Keep these please) This pier is inexpensive and offers great fun by all. The pier is very run down and in need of some... More

Much of this pier is closed and run down. Hardly can be called 'Grand' Old attractions and rides left abandoned and bits of wood, railings, metal laying around. Even the part that is open is not welcoming. With the new Pavilions building open the pier stands out like a sore thumb and needs work urgently to attract visitors to the... More

With the opening of the Pavilions with its clear view over the sea I feel that the pier is letting the side down now. It could do with serious tidying up especially at the far end where old rides etc seem to have just been abandoned. Some of the supports are still hanging off since the major storms a couple... Pier is slowly disintegrating and getting shorter, due to storm damage over time and more recently not being replaced, you can still see pillars leaning over no hence you cannot even walk to the end now.

I managed to pay a visit to the area at the start of March. Not much has changed about the pier itself since the "great storm", the rear is still closed off and looks an absolute mess. The inside area is clean and bright, but as someone heading into their late 30s who remembers so fondly this pier from the... More

The end of the pier was closed and to be honest the whole pier looked like it could do with a few quid spent on it

The frontage of the pier and inside front has recently been cleaned and decorated and looks very good. However the pier itself is in a sad state with static games and ride equipment just lying there out of use and unloved. If the owners cannot tidy it up then just remove the stuff and make it a pleasant walk along... More
