About
We are an artisan chocolate maker and our purpose built factory is open to visitors - a popular tourist attraction in Leyburn. Watch our chocolatiers at work and learn all about chocolate from its history, to where it is grown and how it is made. We have example cocoa pods, beans and nibs to view as well as a film to watch and a chocolate quiz. We run workshops most weekends and holidays suitable for children and adults - try your hand at making a chocolate pizza or lolly. We also offer bookable events such as truffle and chocolate classes as well as parties. We have an on site cafe serving premium coffee, homemade cakes and savoury light bites (such as panini's etc). The cafe also has free WiFi. Our factory shop is crammed with our chocolate creations for you to browse or indulge. Together with a loose chocolate counter and a selection of giftware and hampers you are sure to find a lovely gift or special treat. Free parking, accessible facilities, toilets and nappy change.

Lovely little cafe with gorgeous chocolate from the Artisan shop!
We visited here again as a family of four, as we were in Leyburn, and having been here for the Chocolate Workshop when the children were younger, we thought we’d pop in for a light snack. The staff were all extremely friendly, and the food was delicious, and reasonably priced for Leyburn!! The chocolate shop was a must to visit on the way out, with a box of ‘pick & mix’ quickly purchased and enjoyed! A must visit if you are in Leyburn, as this quaint family owned business won’t disappoint!

    Great chocolate & experience
We went for breakfast in the cafe, which was lovely. Then we went on the chocolate workshop, made pizza shaped chocolate which was great fun! Then we bought chocolate from the shop, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it… the two ladies were really friendly & my 6 year old nephew loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed the premium truffle making workshop. Our guide was attentive, knowledgeable and very interesting. The chocolates we made were delicious, really very high quality. All the staff were warm and friendly. Overall, a fabulous experience!

    Brilliant Fun!
We had a great time at Inspired Chocolate over Easter. We made chocolate pizzas. It was a really fun activity which we arranged on the day it was quite rainy, so a perfect inside activity. The staff were informative, kind and helpful. My children and partner were laughing throughout and if they're happy, I'm happy- though it has to be said I genuinely had a great time and the chocolate was delicious!! We will definitely be going back and I have recommended it to friends and colleagues.

    A non busy day
I think we either went too early or it was a chocolate free day. We only saw staff going from one to another with empty containers. I had a hot chocolate in the cafe which was a proper milky one. We did get a chocolate sample to try in the shop. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed there wasn't much going on. Though we did get some tasty chocolate in the shop.

    Great place to visit
Great place to visit. We went on a very rainy day during term time in May so the place was very quiet. Everyone was really friendly and helpful and the chocolate was top class. Will be ordering more online from them - it was that good. Really worth taking a look at this place

Sheep and Truffles Workshop / Visit
Have visited the chocolate factory before for coffee and chocolates / gifts. This time myself and my dude had a fantastic workshop making truffles, sheep model and a hugely enjoyable and interactive session on all things chocolate! Marie our guide/teacher and font of all things chocolate made the experience/ service and the 2 hours at the shop / factory and workshop fly by! We’ll be back next year or before Christmas to stock up, anyone within 5-20 miles of Leyburn should visit and the chocolate is gorgeous and really well priced!! Thanks!

And purchased some amazing chocolates. We had a great time would definitely recommend and visit again when we are next on holiday. Thank you

Another superb visit with friends, but this time for superb Pizzas! 😳
We couldn’t get into a local restaurant, so we popped in here to the cafe for a snack. We were surprised to find they now do pizzas😳 Not just any pizzas, but high quality ones. Our group of friends were bowled over by the taste and quality. Pop in and try one, you certainly will not be disappointed appointed with your freshly made pizza. I had a Diavola and it was gorgeous. Highly recommended!

    Chocolate pizza making
Our girls had a lovely chocolate-making experience today. The activity was well priced and the chocolate was delicious. Whilst the girls worked, the adults were able to enjoy wonderful hot chocolates and ice creams, which were lovely. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the prices were reasonable for the quality.

We stumbled across Inspired Chocolate whilst in Leyburn and what a hidden gem it was - a must visit for any chocolate lovers! We were welcomed by an enthusiastic member of staff who later explained this small scale chocolate factory was owned by her husband and her. The entire process was visible to public and through glass walls with boards explaining the process, and a clear COVID-19 friendly environment.

There was a number of affordable workshops from chocloate pizza making for the children to truffle making for adults.

The shop offered plenty of gifts, local produce and it goes without saying plenty of chocolate varieties, i recommend the Lemon Meringue and White Chocolate and if you like Caramacs the Caramel White Chocolate is amazing - ask for a sample.

Myself, hubby, sister and her boyfriend visited around lunch time.
Shop was lovely and we had some treats at the cafe.

Hot chocolate was simply delightful
Hubby really enjoyed the waffle and frappe
Sister tried a few things all nice
Boyfriend enjoyed the orange drizzle cake with a caramel latte

All agreed 5 stars, service was pleasant and timely and items were well presented and tasty

We picked up a few things in the shop with the caramel chocolate being a big hit all round

Thank you for a lovely visit

Great selection of chocolates made on the premises, bought a good selection and they were all delicious, reasonably priced too for artisan chocolate. The shop is great for special chocolate gifts and treats. You can see the chocolates being made through various windows and read the information boards. The cafe is tucked away in the back of the shop, they could brighten it up a bit and make much more of it, however it’s sells lovely home made cakes and the velvetised hot chocolate drinks are very nice.

Went to have a look at the chocolate factory with the grandchildren. The workshops are not particularly large but there are good viewing windows to see the staff at work.

There is also a shop selling a good selection of their produce and a cafe where we had coffee and cakes. The good thing about this was we got everything at half price due to the eat out to help out.

Worth a visit.

Really disappointed.
Staff looked really unhappy and the whole place had a down vibe.
We drove to hopefully get some decent cake but it was tasteless.
I didn't bother buying anything in the shop.
A couple at another cafe table were also unimpressed with their choc cheesecake.
Shame as with decent bakes and a smile this could be great.
Maybe we got them on a bad day.?

Really? How very constructive...You said nothing at the time and didn't bother trying any chocolate in the shop so how can you possibly form a proper judgment? What a shame you chose to darken our door. As they say, there is always one... Our Team are a very happy bunch and have worked incredibly hard over a challenging summer. I therefore won't be sharing this rubbish with them. Perhaps it was just you making their day miserable with your negativity... Please don't come back.

Inspired Chcolate has been a regular stop on our yearly holiday to North Yorkshire. Me and my girlfriend visited today and as always the staff were lovely, helpful and gave us a really warm welcome. We watched the chocolate bombs being made and ended up with a huge chocolate reindeer half price! As with our last visits we walked away with some beautiful chocolate which tastes better than any big brand. We efinitely recommend stopping by and can't wait to come back in spring.

This is our second year visiting the area and the chocolate factory. It’s a brilliant place to visit for anyone of any age, we had a lovely bite to eat in the cafe with coffees and cheese & ham toasties.
My husband also had a delicious cheesecake, it’s so good you can even eat the chocolate bowl which it is set in!!

We then also purchased many treats from the shop including things for birthdays and Christmas presents.
I do love this place and the Turkish delight chocolates are to die for!

Great time celebrating my daughter’s 11th birthday with truffle making and afternoon tea.
My daughter and 4 friends went through to the truffle making workshop while I and a couple of other Mums sat and enjoyed a catch up with afternoon tea. Then the girls came out with some gorgeous truffles and also had afternoon tea. They all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere - everyone was very friendly. We will definitely visit again to take in the gorgeous shop and enjoy the cakes on offer in the cafe 🙂

What a fabulous place - most definitely open and ready for visitors!!

We popped in this afternoon and had the most wonderful welcome. The children had a fabulous time making chocolate pizzas whilst grandparents enjoyed a peaceful cup of coffee and a delicious cake. The chocolate is amazing and it is fascinating to see it all being made. We were even lucky enough to test some of the newly made fudge!!

In terms of precautions against Coronavirus, staff are all wearing protective equipment, there is a one-way system in place and they are constantly cleaning. We all felt very safe here.

Thank you for having us - we will be back for fudge in a few days!!!
