Had a fantastic experience snorkelling with Kraken Diving. I'd never snorkelled before but our instructor Margot was really friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and reassuring. The dry suit kept my clothes dry (just my hair and hands got wet) and the team were able to provide a jumper and tracksuit bottoms to wear under the suit for extra warmth. It felt magical to be able to see life under the water. The dry suit keeps you buoyant, so if you're like me and struggle to tread water, you don't need to worry. All in all, great fun and the highlight of my holiday.

I did a try dive by the churchill barriers with Margot. It was an amazing experience and one I thoroughly enjoyed. Margot is an excellent teacher and an excellent diver. I felt very safe the whole dive. Saw a lot of crabs, few fish and a lobster. Diving through and around the wreck was exhilarating. Well worth every penny and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful time with Kracken, did my 5th and 6th dives here in Orkney, and the coaching and scenery at the Churchill barriers were great. Can’t wait to return with my advanced and dry suit cert to dive the WWI German ships in scapa flow!

Had a great time with the team today snorkeling at the Churchill barrier. The whole morning was awesome they explained everything and couldn't be more helpful. When booking I was rather short notice and I had other factors to take into account. They worked with all my issues to make it happen so I'm super grateful for the assistance. The dive was super fun and all their advice for clothing and the like made being in the water much more pleasant all in all I don't have a bad word to say unless the can heat the water next time haha

Had a brilliant 4 days’ diving with Margot and Rob at Kraken, doing my Drysuit, Deep and Nitrox PADI qualifications. First day in shallow water at Churchill barriers getting to know the dry suit then 3 days on the German High Seas Fleet. Everyone was so clear, patient and helpful and the overwhelming impression was that I was in really safe hands. No corners cut; everything done well. Boat goes from Stromness so good place to stay if diving. Highly recommend diving with Kraken alongside a trip to the Scapa Flow museum - it really is a beautiful place with a fascinating history.

What an incredible experience! We did the snorkel safari, and we didn’t expect how impressive this would be. We were cosy for the full hour we were snorkelling and came out bone dry, which was unexpected for us too. We saw crabs, tiny jellyfish, shoals of sand eels, a lobster … it was absolutely amazing.
The instructor was fantastic, she was so knowledgeable about the history of the shipwrecks and all the wildlife under the water. She pointed out all the wonderful things to see. All the staff are so lovely and helpful, and it’s all top quality kit they have for you to us.
Couldn’t recommend this more, it ended up being the highlight of our holiday and I recommend it to everyone I speak to!

I came across to Stromness to dive Scapa Flow from Australia - I didn’t bring any gear at all and was kitted out with everything - and I mean everything - hood, gloves, torch, mask, dry suit (plus of course tech bcd, regs and computer)… all were great. Margot (and Bec) were diving with me and Margot especially was amazing. I have done ~1000 dives all around the world and this was among the very best in terms of being looked after and provided all expected assistance and then some. (I am a former instructor and don’t necessarily need the help but it is so nice when you are treated well and it isn’t assumed you can’t do with some assistance in unfamiliar gear). We dived the destroyer the SMS Dresden and the battleship the SMS Koenig from the German High Seas Fleet (WW1). I hadn’t dived dry for about 20 years, but the Kraken team made life as simple as. The vessel we dived from was warm, comfy, large, stable and easy. (And we got a slow cooked chicken curry lunch!) If you are a diver and have the remotest interest in the historic wrecks of Scapa - just do it. It’s not that cold, vis was ok, but the whole experience was pretty special. I’d definitely dive with them again if I was anywhere near Scotland.

Highly recommend Kraken Diving to anyone looking to experience Scapa flow from underwater. The whole experience was extremely well organised, communication while booking was first rate, really helpful and informative. Margot and Rob are extremely knowledgeable and patient, they started off with a great wee introduction to the history of the area before going over the dive itself, which i really enjoyed. All equipment needed was all provided, the dry suit kept me lovely and warm, we had plenty of help putting everything on, Ed was a star! Margot and Rob really made everything in the water feel effortless. We got to do two dives around the Churchill barrier, The Martis, The Empire Seaman and The Gartshore, having one instructor each. Both Margot and Rob were amazing! Pointing out interesting features and sealife. I always felt very safe, they were both kind, patient and informative throughout the entire day. The whole experience was truly fantastic! I'd encourage anyone considering diving in Orkney to contact Kraken, thank you guys!!

The Kraken team provided excellent tutorship for first timers in the water. I felt perfectly safe in their hands and they made sure beforehand we knew the safety procedures of the dive.
Rob kindly provided a background insight to the barriers and wrecks around which we would be diving.
Margot steered me throughout the dive and made me feel as comfortable as a fish and provided lovely feedback after both dives.
Ed's ability with getting gear on and off made entering and exiting the water much easier and his skills with the lubricant were highly impressive (you'll have to dive to know what I'm referring to).
Overall had a wonderful experience and felt completely relaxed throughout the dives and would highly recommend Kraken diving, especially if you are like me and hesitant about doing it in the first place. You will not regret it!
