Unique, and not to be missed
Jun 2021 • Couples
Floyd’s Pelican Bar was the best ending to a day of sightseeing.

Floyd’s Pelican Bar can only be reached by boat and sits on stilts in Parottee Bay, St. Elizabeth. It’s made up of sturdy plans of wood and there and many names carved into to wide from the many years of visitors, and there are artisans there ready to carve your name too for prosperity. We went for drinks, but saw the food and it looked good.

Talk about unique and rustic, it’s a Robinson Crusoe, hangout with fine dining, drinks and great company.

Challenging

Beautiful place. Just wish there were real stairs to get in and out of the water instead of pieces of rope. Us older folks have a hard time using ropes.

Great fun
Apr 2021 • Friends
In order to reach the Pelican Bar you must take a short boat ride. Our boat is owned & manned by Buda and was one the pleasures associated with a terrific late afternoon excursion for cold beer and a very nice curried conch. The bar is in the ocean, which makes for great sightseeing and fine people watching. I have coming to Jamaica since late 1970’s and can honestly say that this one of my best days. Find the Pelican bar, you will not be disappointed.

Bucketlist item didn't disappoint
Apr 2021
This was a bucketlist item for me and I finally visited! The boat ride out was great - it was windy and the water was choppy but the boat captain was skilled and made it a comfortable, calm ride.
When we entered the bar, the staff weren't super friendly but they warmed up after awhile and we ended up having a great time! A mask is currently required to enter the bar; they have them available to purchase for $3.
Beers were $5 each, which was a little steep; probably to keep people from lingering too long, as it's a fun little joint.
If I were to do it again, I would stay for dinner; looks like they cook up some amazing fish.
Wish there was a little more private, less primitive bathroom area, but I get it; you're in the middle of the ocean.

Amazing!

The trip out there is not too long for those of you who may not want me in a boat very much. But it is a nice ride. Just be aware once you are there you're there until the boat leaves. The beers are a six US dollars apiece and lunch is about $35 per person. It is a large amount of food. It is all cooked right there on a wok on top of a coffee can. The bathroom is a hut higher than the rest of the other huts... Definitely worth the jump in the water but it is kind of cumbersome to get out. This is definitely a once in a lifetime dive bar that is worth going to.

EXCEPTIONAL experience
Feb 2021
If I had allowed the reviews and pictures to influence my decision, i would've lost out on an EXCEPTIONAL experience.
When visiting Pelican Bar, you MUST go with an open mind, please do not go expecting any of the fancy amenities that you're used to at your first world bars, allow yourself to take in all that Pelican Bar has to offer. Have a conversation with Mr. Floyd, he's very approachable.

Myself and husband spent about 2-3 hours Valentine's Day there. Transportation via boat out to the bar is $1,500 JMD round trip, per person, we didn't eat but we did drink and they were reasonable priced, they do accept JMD as well as US. There is an area to sunbathe as well as we saw folks in the water.

We can't wait to return, next time i'm taking more friends.

First Visit
Feb 2021 • Friends
Although not a swimmer, there were no qualms as we entered the boat to be taken to the destination. Upon arrival, we had to wash our hands and ensure our masks were securely on our faces. After locating seats and grabbing drinks at the bar, we placed our orders. The food was a long time coming but that may be due to the fact that it was coal stoves that were being used instead of the regular gas cookers. After an extensively long wait, we were finally served and the food was okay to the palate. The views were exceptional and the wind was just fine. The rustic look and vibe of the pace reminded you that you were apart of something real and of nature. I'm not sure if it is the norm, but my recommendation would be don't arrive all the way hungry else you'll be waiting for a little while.

Great, unique place
Jan 2021
What a great, unique place. Don't miss the chance to visit. Be sure to bring a license plate or other person item to hang on their tribute wall. We took the Island Routes Catamaran trip from Sandals South Coast and it was a great time.

Breezy, cool vibes, nice “decor” remnants of past visitors. Didn’t like the 30-45 min time period given, but I guess it’s to give everyone a chance so it’s all good. Will definitely come again however.
