Very well tended beach, great facilities, fantastic food service, very clean, great water quality. Protected by the reef and grassy shallows, so no waves to speak of (unlike other beaches in the area). Also, there's a _very_ decent snorkeling on the far left side of the beach (facing the water).

Very nice beach, clean, not crowded at all, chairs and umbrellas for rent. The sand is velvety smooth, the water is calm, there are kayaks to rent and a man pushing an ice cream cart with large cups of pineapple, coconut, and passion fruit ice cream, which is more like a sherbet, $4. Delicious! It's a nice long beach that... More

My wife and I found this beach and loved it because, 1) it has restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and lockers, and 2) hardly anyone visits it during the "winter". There are public (free) restrooms, but they were out of service when we went. The JUMY bath house charges one dollar to use their facilities (bathrooms, changing rooms, showers) which are... More

We discovered this beautiful gem and we absolutely loved it !!! Literally spent all day here until the sunset and it was amazing. The water is so calm. The beach is flat and there's tons of shade under the beautiful palm trees, to escape from the blazing sun. There's bathrooms ($1 per person for all day use) and there is... More

We had a beautiful beach day at Monserrate. We planned to go to El Yunque but couldn't pull ourselves away from this stunning (and as it was off season nearly empty) beach. All the things that your mind conjures when thinking of pure relaxation existed here. A great little snack area where we had piña coladas...walks on the beach and... More

If you are staying in San Juan, rented a car, and are looking for a beautiful Puerto Rico Beach, Balneario Monserrate can be a great option! Here's why. In one day you could hike El Yunque Rain-Forest, have a cultural lunch at the Luquillo Kioskas, and visit a beautiful beach! It is also easy to find right off of the... More

When I think of Puerto Rico three things that stand out are El Morro, El Junque and Monserrate beach. This is one of four beaches in Luquillo. It is very protected and safe for swimming. Water is warm and clean. The waves are very calm, so no surfing or snorkeling. La Pared, a couple miles away, is good for those... More

One of the best beaches in Puerto Rico. Very clean. You can rent umbrellas for $3 and chairs for $5. Weekends can get crowded. Paid parking available.
