This fun new park, located next to the Seville Recreation Reserve, has been built with young children and families in mind. Step out of the real world and into your own water fantasy. Find a Magic Button to trigger of the first of 15 random jet produced water eruption sequences creating rain over you, your friends and family. Make your way out of the water jets and discover the beauty and simplicity of the Archimedes screw. Turn the handle slowly and enjoy the soft tinkling of water or turn faster and create a fast flow through the canal rapids. Enter the rockery and let your imagination take you to a place of dinosaur eggs and meteorites large and small. Make your escape through the echoed pipes or roll down dinosaur hill and into the tranquil native gardens and open grassed picnic areas.

My wife and I stopped here for a short rest and a walk during our drive to Blue Lotus Garden in Yarra Junction and Warburton for a day trip.

This local park is well maintained, with a playground, water features (not turned on during our visit) and open space. Plenty of car parking slots on the roadside.

We will visit this place again next year on another day trip.

The Seville Water play park was installed a few years ago on what was the Seville War Memorial Pool site.
It has to be the most frequently visited place for all locals with kids on any day over 23 degrees (Celsius).
The best thing is, there is no closing time, no fence to stop you enjoying it on a balmy evening and no rules that its only for the kids to get wet and have fun at!!!
To give you a bit of background: The pool had reached its used by date and ideas were fielded as to what could be done to make sure the place was still available for water-play in the summer. The memorial aspects of the original pool were honored in the construction of the play area within the original pool shell. The significance of the local area (orchards and viticulture) are celebrated via the design of the play space, as is the role of water in the valley.
But most of all the park is for having a bit of fun in the sun, at any time of the year, and any time of the day, for as long or short a time as you want.
My insider/local advice, is to visit later in the afternoon, or earlier in the morning, of very hot days. To park in the car-park on the opposite side to the water-park, where there are BBQs and more shade as the day progresses. To set yourself up on the river side of the water-park in the afternoon, to get the best chance of being under some natural shade. To take a picnic and a shade tent of some sort (you might not get that spot in the shade!), and don't forget to slip, slop, slap regularly. The whole park is easily accessed by those with impaired mobility, and those in Wheelchairs. There is a small toilet block on the site, along with a limited number of picnic tables and seats. There are supermarkets and takeaway shops within five minutes walking of the park for extra food and drink. The supermarkets both have extra toilet facilities to those available at the park.

We went there today with our two toddlers, the park is well located and had plenty of parking available. We packed our lunch for a picnic there. The park is within walking distance to shops and bakery if you don’t feel like having s picnic there.
Our toddlers absolutely enjoyed their time there. It is the best public water park by far we have been in Melbroune.

This used to be the old Seville Pool - it was covered in and replaced with water jets which shoot up randomly. Kids have an absolute ball chasing and sitting on the water jets.

There is a rocky area to explore as well which seems to entertain the older kids and most kids seem to be less than 8 years old.

Best to bring camping chairs and a picnic blanket to sit on and get in early if it's a hot day to get one of the few shady spots. There are water taps, unshaded tables, grassy areas and toilets and across the road is another grassy area with shelter, water tap, BBQ and tables.

Get there early because there is nowhere to park and no shade. If you enjoy sitting in the sun with 300 other people then you'll just adore it. Five star rating for Seville, only because the rest of the town is so bad.

There were squeals of delight as we arrived this morning and my children spotted the huge water jets.

This park has great play equipment, a great setting and all the water jets and wet play fun you need to cool off on a hot day.

The play equipment ranges from basic to challenging too.

What a great way to reuse an old public swimming pool and turn it into a play space that can be used all year round. Bravo Seville council!

Take some chairs or picnic blanket to guarantee a shady seat.

Take a change of clothes for the kids.

If you don’t take a picnic there’s a coffee shop and supermarket 5 minutes walking distance.

Free water play area. Excellent for cooling off in the hotter days in summer. Lots of water jets, including some huge ones. Toilets were not clean and could be better maintained.

This place was a fantastic day out that the whole family enjoyed , worth bringing along picnic rug and chairs, kids will happily play and stayed amused for hours, fair sized park with sand pit plenty of room to kick a ball but the biggest hit of the day was the water play were the kids played happily for hours, so best recommend going on a hot day, plenty of shaded areas and had no problem getting a car park, the only neg I would have to say is the bbq area was really small but the shops are a 2 min walk were there is a pizza shop and ice cream shop situated close by to each other all in short walking distance.

I'd like to think that the best things in life are free. The seville water play park is a low or no cost atrraction. We visited on a 40 degree day and you'd think we'd be fried to a crisp, but no we weren't. We parked along the Monbulk-Seville Road and sat under the trees towards that side of the park. It was well shaded and even cool enough to have a nap. The park is well designed. The floor was non-slip and safe for the kids. There’s a Woolworths nearby so you can get something to eat if you forget a picnic, but it’s nice to bring a picnic rug and basket and sit in the shade. Once you’re dry you can go back in. Oh bring spare clothes and towels. It’s difficult not to get wet.

The only downside is the toilet building – a friend of mine used it and said it was smelly and disgusting.

There really is something for everyone here, from the water play section and playground, to the natural play zone and picnic spots. Can’t wait to go back!
