Loved visiting this unique and very impressive site. These immense, iconic reclining and standing Buddhas can be seen for miles. Myanmar has some of the most amazing Buddhist monuments and statues in the world.

Unfortunately, I was there in July so I don't know how is it nowadays but when I was there I didn't hear anything about it being closed. Hope this helps you!
