The wine tour is done amazingly well and timed well. Explaining the varietals and also the wine making process. The flow and entire time went by flawlessly. The English speaking staff was very professional, knowledgeable and also very very friendly. GrandMonte does a great job making visitors welcome. People can wander among a small area of the vineyards or even sit among the vines and enjoy a cheese platter and wine. The staff are very knowledgeable about the history of the vineyard and the operation, and they are generous in providing samples of their wine. Tours of the vineyards and wine-making facilities are also available for a reasonable price.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 February 2024

We got to harvest some grapes and watch the whole process as February and March are harvest time. Check out their Sunday harvest festival events during this period. Shop sells wide range of goods other than wine. Vin Cotto Restaurant is lovely too. You can stay at the vineyard if you wish - looks like beautiful rooms but we were already booked elsewhere. Surprisingly, even the children enjoyed the trip. Delicious Shirakawa grape juice served to them during our wine tasting! Small plates of cheese, olives and incredible bread served to all of us during tasting. An impressive set up, very well run.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 February 2024

GrandMonte Vineyard and Winery, Pak Chong: Unbeknownst to so many of us oenophile plebeians, there are vineyards in Thailand. We were recently at Monsoon Valley Vineyard in Hua Hin and the wines were near disastrous. Even more so as we embarked on a Douro valley wine trail in Porto. Like most tourists to Pak Chong, you will be hitting 2 vineyard stops - GrandMonte and PB Valley. If you’re doing both, you’ll realise they are as different as two rival siblings. GrandMonte, smaller is size, boasts less bells and whistles than PB. However, true oenophiles will prefer GrandMonte as their wines are genuinely world class - they have bagged numerous awards at AWC Vienna awards, 3 notable silvers in 2023. The tour is serious for wine lovers - Lisa, our guide, genuinely explains the grapes, the processes and recommends good wines. Wine tasting is done in a classy room, paired with cheese. The whole set up is professional and sophisticated. PB is at the polarised end and we ended up abhorring the entire run-of-the-mill, stuck in mud experience. The true standouts are the young daughters of the family business. One is the winemaker and you can taste the new blood coursing through the veins - she studied wine and experiments endlessly. The level of innovation is high with collabs with local cheese makers and cheese imported from less known regions such as Pakistan. Traditional wine-making earthen jars the type they used in Georgia were also used. The award-winning tastes are layered, extraordinary and surprising in juxtaposition. Their newest release, a Portuguese Veldelho, is so superb it trumps some of the ones I had in Portugal. She is changing the face of Thai wine and for that I absolutely applaud her. Vincotto, the restaurant, is absolutely world-class, facing a gentle creek and we only had burrata but the pesto sauce was so good. The only thing you got to do was a reality pinch test as you’d think you’re at a vineyard in NZ or Australia. #eatstylishtravelstylish

No, we are not in the Toscana, Italy but in a beautiful valley north-east of Bangkok. The family owning the Vineyard has done a fantastic job! We arrived in the afternoon and after a very warm welcome haven been shown to our wonderful room (with a super bathroom) at the lodge. Instantly we decided to add a second night so we would have a full day to take the tour/wine tasting and simply enjoy the landscape. Breakfast was a hit – we went for the eggs Benedict 😉
The wines (and everything else) are Top International Standard – simply amazing 😊

Granmonte in the Asoke Valley is “ God’s Little Acre(s) “
Nestled between the famous mountains of Khao Yai and a scenic lake is a vast vineyard, impeccably cultivated, using sustainability methods from its early days; and which have gotten more sophisticated..
This vineyard, which grows more than half dozen internationally known wine grape varieties - Durif, Vedelho, Syrah, Voignier to name a few - not only boasts of award winning wines but also of excellent F&B offerings at its Restaurant, VINCOTTO.
Having stated the above , I’ll have now to rave about the food in VINCOTTO.
Many of the dishes in the Western ( mostly Italian) and Thai Menus use freshly produced vegetable and herb ingredients from its small farm; and neighbouring agricultural facilities…
Most memorable dishes in Western/ Italian Menu have sustained its quality and deliciousness over the the last 18 years my husband and I dined there - with more varieties of the vegetables and herbs from “ farm to table”…
Our perennial favourites and “ must haves” are :
Fresh Prawn and Grape Salad;
Freshly Smoked Duck Breast Salad;
Pan Seared Foie Gras;
Buratta - freshly produced at a neighbouring dairy facility - served with a delicious pesto sauce
Etc Etc
Of the Mains, our favourites, must be, the famed Slow Cooked Lamb Shank; and the
various Pastas dishes ; Pad Thai; and the various offerings from the Thai menu - which are my personal favourites!
As someone once proclaimed a meal is as good as it’s Desserts; and Wines..
Of the Desserts - all of them are great, truly!
But the “must try” is the home made Vanilla Milk Ice Cream - flavoured with Granmonte grown vanilla pods!
The latter is to be expected with its award winning offererings ..
The Granmonte Cremata and Sakuna Rose as aperitifs are my favourites; and for the serious wine pairing diners …there are many to choose from!

I really endorse a visit for the guided tour. Our guide was very friendly and informative.
This little family operation is awesome and trying to breakthrough in the wine scene. We did the wine tasting and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We never thought Thailand would be strong wine producer, but this vineyard may prove me wrong.
My only regret is we didn’t stay for lunch/dinner. The restaurant looked really cute. Location is actually pretty good too, so if you’re looking to make a trip of it, check out their guest cottage.
Overall, this was a highlight of my trip to Khao Yai. I was really pleasantly surprised by this place!

What an interesting day! Our host was knowledgeable, friendly and loved to laugh with us.
We learnt a lot about how difficult it is to produce wine in Thailand! The tastings were very generous and we loved walking the grounds to see the diverse foliage.

Booked a vineyard facing room for my parents’ 25th anniversary and they had one of the most memorable time here. The room was perfect, clean, and cosy. The vineyard was huuuuge and very well-maintained with super friendly staff and GREAT wines you can find in Thailand. Their restaurant serves delicious food with vegetarian options and quite reasonably priced too. You MUST also try their homemade goods, it’s fresh and delicious. Granmonte is the best vineyard they’ve visited in Thailand and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Special thanks to Nikki for taking care of my special request so well. I will definitely make a visit with my friends.
