Lovely viewpoint with views over Laguna De Apoyo, plenaty of space here and lots of other things to do.
We wandered around the small local shops and found a rum tasting, with several different brands.
Don't just stay on the site wander down the road through the town.
Worth a visit if you are passing by.

Fantastic view across the water & on a sunny blue sky day ( which we had ) a really nice spot to wander about & take photos. Plenty of seating is provided should you want to sit as you take in the vista.
Nothing much else to do except look in some tacky little stalls & perhaps take a walk down the hill from the carpark at the top & explore the area a bit before getting back on your coach if you're on a day trip like we were.

We were staying at a property right at Laguna Apoyo. We hired a driver to come here at the host's recommendation. The view of the Laguna from our property was already so gorgeous, but to view it here, above, was breathtaking. Everyone has already posted their pictures, and while they show the amazing view, it does not capture the awe my family and I felt. If you are around, this should not be missed. There are no safety rails and only 1 bench, so be very careful up there too. I made sure my 5 and 2.5 year old was holding my husband or my hand the whole time.

We love this place we were happy we went with a local and stopped here on our way back from Granada, the Artesania shops at the entrance are really nice and surprisingly cheap, the restaurants are good and the food is OK, but once you walk in to the open Mirador you won't believe your eyes, it is AMAZING, and really windy. the street vendors are persistent and they will bother the heck out of you for you to spend your money, if you have time they even offer hose back rides all the way down to the lake, but it does take a few hours, is best if you get there early and make it a whole day event if you take the horse ride if not you won't have enough time to do it.

At the end of the view point you can do a short circular trail for a small fee -- mango trail. It is a pleasant hike. Another trail runs to Pacaya, a former railway track.

The view is absolutely stunning, I have been here every time I am in the area. It is peaceful to just sit down and take it all in. My dad likes to hear the duo/musicians that are usually in the area. You can see another volcano off in the distance as well as Granada in another direction. Unfortunately the pictures attached to this review are from a cloudy day.
I give this place 5 stars because it is what it is meant to be - a tourist point. Beautiful views and a place to sit down to drink something as you take it in. Yes there are little stalls/stores that sell tourist stuff, but what tourist place doesn't? The stuff is cheaper than you would find at the Managua airport. The vendors were quite helpful, as we were asked to bring back certain items for family members, and instead of pushing us to buy other stuff, the vendors told us who might have what we were looking for.

There were marimba players and lots of artisan crafts, although the selection is better at the Masaya market. The best part was sitting next to the window in the restaurant and enjoying the view. The sun sets behind but the views were still great in the afternoon.

visited this place because it was part of the tour that had already paid but I really think it's not a place where there are many attraction for visitor ,neighboring businesses to the site selling products too expensive.

We took a one day trip from Costa Rica and this was one of our stops. Amazing views, do not miss if you are in the area. There are also some vendors and a restaurant.

This lookout point is a nice view of the Laguna de Apoyo, Granada, and Lake Nicaragua. Catarina itself is a charming little town. Really all there is to do is stand and look - doesn’t take much. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this view, but if you’re in the area then worth it.

Hello - does anyone know if it is possible to hike to and/or from this mirador from laguna de apoyo? Do I need a guide or can I do it on my own? Thanks!!
