Beautiful lake
Nov 2019
Even on a chilly, mostly grey day, the lake is gorgeous. The sun was out when we arrived and you can see the Alps in the far distance. It is an easy trip on the S6 train from Munich.

Great boat ride on the Lake
Oct 2019 • Friends
Visiting friends in Berg and we thought we would like to go on the cruise boat around the lake. The boat was well decked out, modern and a great friendly crew. Food and drink was also available.
It was a cool, windy rainy day but it was still fun. Since it is nearing the end of the season we could only get the shorter tour which was still good.
Saw lots of older homes, the site where King Leopold drowned at and lots of sailing boats. The tour was just over 1.5 hours and it was enjoyable. Good food and drink and good company - wonderba!

a lovely location for wither taking a boat trip or a walk along the path around the lake. plenty of cafes at reasonable prices. easily reached from Munich by train and the station is located between the lake and the town.

Great lake for a relax full vacation
Aug 2019
The lake is really big. I must recommend to reach the lake, coming from Munich, with the S-Bahn S6 (stop "Starnberg"): you'll need just a 2 zone ticket (white and green): the following stops ("Tutzing") are in a 3rd zone.
In front of the railway station there is the stop of the boats: a fantastic way for exploring the lake. The complete lake round trip is more than 3 hours. With the ticket (Großes Seerundfahrt) you can take 2 "stops", but peruse your timetable to plan adequately your day!. If you came to Starnberg with the S-Bahn you are entitled a 10% discount of the boat tickets. Onboard of the big ships you can also get some food.
You can also take foot or bike strolls around the lake on dedicated paths.
Please remember to pay a visit to the "VotivKapelle", near Berg: is the place where King Ludwig was "suicided"... :-)

Wunderschön
Jul 2019 • Family
Wunderschön! Our family had a great time here: had a bike tour around the lake, and the rest of the time we spent on the water. We brought with us SUP. Boat rent is quite pricey here.
