Medieval Christmas Market! Nothing beats an old castle with the smells of wood fire, Glühwein (Hot mulled/spiced wine) and frost in the air. While the sounds of traditional music, children laughing and venders hawking their wares. And seeing the musicians with dance troup in medieval period costumes, animals, and Christmas crafts. Truly magical! There are also three very unique museums... More

Went on a castle hunt with my kids and found this gem. This was my kids favorite castle so far. Beautiful and pretty

I would spend special occasions at the small restaurant open next to the hostel in the 1980's since I lived in the small village near the castle..the food and service were excellent, it is wonderful to see the pictures of it almost 40 years later and how it has been so lovingly restored. I am happy for the Berg and... More

We went during the Celtic Fair which is only 2 days during the summer. But don't worry other than seeing folks dressed up in Midieval costume in an actual castle from the dark ages, which is actually kinda cool, no need to see the fair. There is a hotel and a restaurant on the grounds, but also a little picnic... More

Had lunch at the restaraunt at the castle, hiked around the inside. Beautiful spring day, about 65 degrees F. They are doing renovations, really interesting to see how it would have looked hundreds of years ago.

We had a fun time at this burg. My kids enjoyed exploring. There were quite a few people there but spread out. There was also a wedding at the church, so we didn't want to look inside. There was lots to do and quite a few trails to walk, we were there for almost 2 hours. Lots of places to... More

Great place to visit! Not only was it free but also had great views. The tower was being remodeled so we missed that party but did not feel like it took away from the experience. The church was picturesque also!

Spent a very lovely evening celebrating a birthday. The restaurant was clean, lovely and the atmosphere romantic. The food was good and the wine even better. A nice quiet evening for two.

A very well-kept and enjoyable castle ruins. Many of the castle walls, to include two towers and a stone bridge are all intact and ready to be explored. There is no entry-fee - it is free. The castle has a full-service restaurant, café, book store and garden area. We saw two couples posing for wedding photographs in early fall (Sep... More
