It's not the most difficult of the volcanos on the islands and can easily be walked without a guide. Talk plenty of water!

We decided to walk up to the crater on a semi-cloudy morning. The ascent took about 45 minutes and takes you the edge of the crater mouth. Walking to the summit and around the edge takes another 30 minutes but is highly recommended. The views...More

We went up during a thunder and lightning storm that approached from the west. Totally unique experience, lightning strikes at sea and booming thunder overhead; sulphurous smoke fields above the massive crater, a good walk with fabulous views of the islands.

Our hike up the crater took about an hour, it's an easy path. Once we were up there, we decided to walk around the crater itself giving us views in all the surroundings of the volcano. It is very scenic and beautiful from up top...More

We hiked the volcano in the early hour of the day. It's a 50' easy trek to go up and about 30' to go down. Amazing view of the island from the top.

Good shoes, and preferably a walking pole to help climb the rough path. I was not sure-footed enough to complete the walk, but enjoyed stunning views and lovely wild flowers even on the lower slpes.

It takes about 45 minutes to scale the volcano all the way to the top of the crater. It's a delightful hike during which you'll enjoy the vistas of surrounding islands as they open up before you. And it's THE thing to do whilst on...More

Really good hike up the volcano. It took about 30mins to get to the crater. Route is clearly mapped and always busy - can't get lost. Views from the top are amazing! Just don't spend too much time near the steaming gaps, stinks of sulphur

An experience never to forget! About a 50 min. climb each way. The view is incredible and I've seen other volcanos but this one has a special energy. A wonderful atmosphere. Amanda
