About
A unique experience suited to all in the family for discovering Sardinian traditions. S’Abba Frisca is the largest ethnographic museum in Sardinia, brought to life through the restoration of an old agricultural property and set in exceptional natural parkland with fountains, cascades and plants of the Mediterranean maquis. During the tour you can visit the antique shepherd’s hut called Su Cuile, as well as a blacksmith’s workshop, the manor house with its collection of traditional garments, weapons and jewels, and rooms for working with wool, baking bread, and making olive oil and wine and much more. An extensive area is dedicated to farm animals, a kitchen garden and a pathway for sampling scents of aromatic herbs. The open air museum buzzes with activity when artisans present their Living Museum demonstrations on scheduled days during the year.

We had an amazing time today at this family run museum. It was a perfect way to more fully understand Sardinia and its rich history. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his family’s history and farm. I can’t say enough about this experience!

Good place to learn about recent (18-19 CE) Sardinia history. There are a number of displays such as leathermaking, weaving, olive oil or wine making. Also there are some pens with animals, such as donkeys, horses, domesticated birds, rabbits, etc. We cycled there from Dorgali. While it is not very far (about 7 km), the return is steep with grades up to 13% and at this time of year it is difficult to avoid the heat because the parc opens at 10:00 and the tour is about 1-2 hours.

Amazing couple of hours. Some very rare animals, well looked after.
Extensive history of Sardinian culture , heritage, and farming experiences.

Shepherd huts from 200 years ago, all the culture and heritage , fascinating insight into traditions and methodologies originating from Sardinia and Italian history.

Working farm set on a spring with waterfalls, gorgeous setting and surrounding.

Excellent guided tour with English speaking guide who is the son / grandson ? of the estate .

Well worth a couple of hours. Accessible for buggies. kids enjoyed it. interactive. Really insightful. Attraction funded purely visitors so worth supporting.

After the tour sample some traditional meats and cheese and wine or hand made lemonade with lemons from the gardens .

We visited with children aged 10, 8 and 18 months in a buggy and they all enjoyed.

What a pleasure to visit this outdoor museum! Besides viewing artefacts of farming and domestic life of the past, there were a number of animals to see. Would definitely recommend for those of all ages - something to interest everyone. Our guide was also helpful in telling us about other pts of interest in the area and gave us a map and directions.
