Rude Staff, Decent Museum
Jun 2019
A few 14th and 15th century wooden sculptures, 14th and 15th century frescoes. There are paintings from as far back as the 15th century. It's a small museum with a small amount of medieval artwork. 4€? I guess it's not that bad of a price, but it should be 1 or 2. The worst thing about it was the two ladies at the front desk. They were so rude. My son is a 23 year old, graduated from college, history major, I can guarantee you he knows more about any of the pieces in this museum than these ignoramuses. He wanted to read the signs, study the pieces; one of the women kept telling him to stay with his family and some other family we did not even know! She literally pushed him (lightly) toward us - weird, wrong, rude. My kids, aged 14 to 23 have been in the Uffizi, Borghese, Napoli Archeologico... real museums, to be treated this way? This ruined an otherwise OK museum experience.

This is a tremendous small museum with lots of interesting art works and artefacts.
The main attractions are some lovely terracotta reliefs by a pupil of Della Robbia and the Madonna and Child by Jacopo della Quercia (1420).

The third floor houses a collection of richly decorated Anghiari weapons, as well as paintings from the 16th and 17th centuries (Giovanni Antonio Sogliani, Matteo Rosselli, Jacopo Vignali, and Giovan Battista Ghidoni).
I had never seen such a collection of votive offerings and elaborately dressed statues of Mary.
What really made our trip was the delightful, charming lady who showed us round on a free guided tour. Her English was excellent and we learnt so much that we would otherwise have missed. It was one of the best small museums I have visited -a fascinating and quirky collection with some really beautiful highlights.

ASTONISHING DELIGHT
Sep 2015 • Couples
This amalgamation of three medieval houses is in itself really interesting and the collections are way above the standard you might expect for such a small town.
A delight.

The battle of anghiari
Jul 2013 • Friends
You can find in the surroundings of Anghiari the castles of Montauto, Galbino and Sorci, are the important ones to see, but as years passed they have been transformed into private homes. If you would like to visit the castle from the inside, you must set an appointment with their owners.at the museum of Anghiari you can see the famous painting the battle of Anghiari painted by Michaelangelo Bonarotti, one of the most important paintings that shows the famous battle and it is very impressive.

Great Place to learn about the battle of Anghiari, made famous by Michelangelo in his painting, the battle of anghiari.
