Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The road has many sharp turns, and very pretty views of the fjord. The viewpoint at the top has great views of Geiranger and the fjord. There's a small parking lot next to the view point, but it gets very crowded when there are tour buses. Need to be careful of all the people walking on the road.

The steepest section of Road 63 between Geiranger and Eidsdal is called Ørnevegen, or "The Eagle Road”, as driving along its eleven hairpin turns at 620 metres (2,030 ft) above sea level feels a little like being airborne

This is one of the most exiting drives I hava had in Norway and I have lived here all my life. Fantsatic view. Do stop at the viewpoint. Drive safe and stop to enjoy the view.

Takes your breath away. As our coach carefully manouvered the steep bends, literally in zig-zags, up and up, we were rewarded with stage by stage at varied height views of Geiranger Fjord. Weather conditions dictate if the drive up the Eagle Road is feasible but it is worth taking this once in a lifetime risk - even if you are afraid of heights - like me.
The view of Geiranger Fjord is simply spectacular!

I can hardly believe this is on the list of best drives in Norway. Just look for minor roads near or around fjords, and get off the major roads to enjoy as much spectacular scenery as you can absorb. Absolutely no reason to drive the Geiranger- Trollstigen road and put up with the bumper to bumper traffic and tour busses. This road is grossly overrated.

This road is worth the travel and the fear. I wouldn't suggest driving it. Rather use a tour company and its busses. The drivers are great!

There are eleven hairpin turns on this road on the side of a mountain above Geiranger, Norway. We took this road downhill on mountain bikes as part of the SkyToFjord bike tour. There is a spectacular viewing point (viewpoint Flydalsjuvet) near the top of the road.

I didn't drive so I really enjoyed the views. The road has some very tight turns but the views are worth it. Plenty of places to stop and look out over the fjord.

A convenient, albeit very small, parking lot is located at the best location for views. Do NOT stop anywhere else to keep you and others safe.

Loved the panoramic drive, the eleven hairpin turns, the scenic overlooks, and the waterfalls. Such stunning views of Geirangerfjord!
