We walked about 32kms from the town Palafrugell to Sant Feliu de Guixols. We first had to walk to the coast of Calella de Palafrugell where we slept and started our journey on foot along the camino. Except for Calella, which is a gorgeous, well preserved town, the cities are not particularly nice, but it was perfect to jump from town to town in order to be able to buy food and water so we did not have to carry a lot of it. The natural areas in-between towns are stunningly beautiful. I 100% recommend walking it

The round trip is a coastal path that runs almost all of Catalonia. This stretch is one of the most popular for its beauty and comfort to do it.
The landscape and beaches as well as the wind-shaped trees stand out clearly.

The perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, history, wonderful accommodation, delicious local cuisine, and friendly people. The Cami de Ronda is a 230 km trail stretching along the picturesque Costa Brava coastline from Lloret de Mar (north of Barcelona) to the French boarder. There are many access points and a wide variety of terrain, including flat seawalks in resort towns, steep rocky trails through pine forests, scenic staircases hugging the coastline, and sandy beach walking. Depending on the section you choose and the time available, it could be an afternoon stroll or multi-day hiking trip. The trail is very well maintained and well-marked. (Keep an eye out for the red and white parallel lines which indicate you are going in the correct direction, if the red and white lines are crossed you have taken a wrong turn.) We chose to hike the most scenic and popular section, called the ‘Baix Emporda’, equipped with a 30 liter backpack, sturdy walking shoes, a flexible schedule and no reservations. We visited in Sept 2016, shoulder season, and easily found great accommodation at reasonable prices. We spent 7 days on the trail, only travelling by foot. Most of the hiking is quite easy for someone with reasonable fitness. The most difficult part was from Platja Fonda to Begur as it is all uphill.
Getting there? We took the SARFA / Moventis bus from Barcelona to Sant Feliu de Guixols, and spend the first night at the charming Can Segura Hotel… with time to explore the town, marina, and the monastery. We set out early the next day, and picked up the trail at the far north part of town, behind the marina….keep an eye open for the red and white lines painted on the roadway and poles. (Note: Sant Feliu de Guixols is also kilometer zero for the Via Verde, rails-to-trails path which heads inland and connects Catalonia to the Camino de Santiago)
Along the Cami de Ronda, you’ll discover historical sites, picturesque fishing villages, resort towns, secluded coves, pine forests, naturist beaches, and friendly people - the common Catalan greeting is ‘hola bon dia’. We enjoyed daily swims in the ocean, and marveled at the trail construction. It originated as a route to patrol the coast from pirates, and to connect fishing villages… later it became an escape route to France during the Spanish Civil War. We ended our hiking trip in Begur and took a bus to Palafrugell, then on to Girona. Along the Cami de Ronda we discovered so many beautiful, interesting spots … it would be a long list to name them all… enjoy the trail – it’s a wonderful adventure.

The walk from Sant Pol beach to Sa Conca beach is a gentle 75 minutes easy stroll. Underfoot conditions are firm and no difficulty to older people. They must have spent millions building this coast path. The scenery is simply stunning, eye watering around every bend. Constant photo opportunities!! And at Sa conca another surprise - a lovely quiet beach with two beach bars to refresh you, and toilets as well.
In the other direction (south) from Sant Pol to St Feliu it is a much more challenging walk! Often difficult underfoot, and with significant rise and falls, it was a hard 90 minutes for us constantly watching our step. Much more suited to younger fit people!

It is a beautiful walk from Sant Pol to Sa Conca beach, for approx. 30 minutes. It runs along the seaside and beautiful villas of La Gavina.
It is a well-prepared road with terraces and benches to rest and to enjoy the beautiful views of the sea.
However, if you enjoy to be close to nature, I would recommend another path. For example, the path along the sea from Callella de Palafrugell to La Fosca will offer breathtaking views , but is more sportive. It is longer and you can find a lot of interesting sights there- ruins, cala s'Alger with its old fisherman's houses, beach Castell .
It is a well-prepared road with terraces and benches to rest and to enjoy the beautiful views of the sea.
However, if you enjoy to be close to nature, I would recommend another path. For example, the path along the sea from Callella de Palafrugell to La Fosca will offer breathtaking views , but is more sportive. A wonderful day trip from Barcelona! We drove to Calella de Palafrugell and easily found parking. After a short walk through town we found multiple signs for the trail. I couldn't say which town or beach was the most picturesque because it was all amazingly beautiful. There were many fantastic choices for lunch in all of the towns and many of the menus were available in English. Our family will definitely be going back to explore more of this fantastic area!

Great pathway and boardwalk around S'agaro. Very scenic and picturesque! Can easily find restaurants and see the beach scene and walk in the park.. Really nice!

We just completed a 3 day, inn-to-inn hike with Camí de Ronda hiking company. Details of the hike and booking info can be found online. We went with the "premium" options, along with a pre-hike overnight stay in Girona and a post-hike overnight in the scenic town of Begur (so 5 nights hotel total). Our luggage was taken to the next inn each day after breakfast.
Dani was our guide. He has grown up in the area and invented the three day route we took, weaving together different coastal paths into a multi-day itinerary that is very manageable for those in good physical condition. Dani knows the area well, and was greeted repeatedly on the path by friends and neighbors. He is also a former archaeologist with a lot of interesting information about the history of the area and the ruins you can see on the walk. Dani lives about 20 minutes drive from the coast, so he would guide us to each inn and then leave us to have our own experience in the town until the next morning.
The route could not have been more varied or more beautiful. Each climb rewarded the hiker with spectacular views of the blue mediterranean and the sometimes rocky, sometimes sandy coast. By the end of the hike on the third day, there is a bit of a scramble up the hill towards Begur. At the top, we could look back and see, off in the distance, our starting point. It looked impressively far away.
The inns were uniformly charming and comfortable and the food (set dinners and breakfasts are all included) was delicious. In particular, our dinner & breakfast at the hotel in Llafranc was really outstanding (I have reviewed this hotel separately).
One confession: the walk turned out to be a bit tough for my 12 and 13 year old daughters, who are used to hiking but on a smaller scale (I would estimate each day's walk as between 5-6 hours at a reasonable pace with plenty of sometimes steep ascents and descents). Dani expertly handled the situation of a split group and arranged for van support to take my husband and kids off the trail and over to the next hotel. Having this flexibility was invaluable in our situation.
I would highly recommend Camí de Ronda hiking company to anyone who enjoys hiking and the outdoors and is interested in experiencing the beautiful Costa Brava. This trip was comparable to hiking trips I have taken with premium US based outdoor travel companies.

Vous pouvez commencer dans n'importe quelle ville sur la route car elle est linéaire. Il correspond au GR-92 qui va de Portbou à Amposta. Je recommande la section Begur-Lloret de Mar

Hola os recomiendo alojaros una noche en Sagaro, Playa de Aro o cerca, para después ir a Sant Feliu Guixols, dejar allí el coche e iniciar a pie el camino hacia Sagaro siguiendo hasta el Port Daro, volver a pie a Sagaro, comer y coger el trenecito-bus para volver a Sant Feliu G y al coche para volver al hotel. Al dia siguiente ir al pueblo medieval de Pals a comer y de vuelta en la AP7 entrar en la fortaleza de Hostalrich tomar un café y ver sus piedras y ubicación defendida por las tropas austracistas.

Hola! Estoy yendo a Barcelona en septiembre y alquile un día un auto para recorrer. Pensaba en hacer rápido rodea y girona, esta bien o es demasiado? Quería ver este camino de ronda que dicen es tan lindo y por la tarde y mediodía girona. Será imposible llegar? Me ayudan? Gracias!

No entiendo "rodea" y girona.....
En todo caso cuando vayas desde Barcelona a Girona, si recorres el barrio judio y la muralla, hay un bus-trenecito turístico, comes por la ciudad y vas a dormir a Sagaro, por ejemplo en el Hotel Barcarola, podrás hacer desde allí el camino de ronda y ver sitios emblemáticos. Igual nos vemos por el paseo, jajaja
