Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great 9 hole course, kept in great condition all year round which is a credit to both green keepers and staff in general, please to play at this course.

I came here today with my dad to play 9 Holes, and I’ve never been more disgusted in my entire life. The arrogance of the staff AND members has absolutely appalled me. Me and my dad are working at an amazing pace as we could of done, there is a man infront of us and two teens in front of the man also who arent even meant to be on the course at this point because they came of the 18th straight to the 1st,when your meant to let the people infront waiting on first! Anyway, we weren’t going anywhere anytime soon even if we wanted to, theres so many people infront.
A man with glasses comes speeding over to us in a truck, and asks us to let these two grown men behind us infront, bare in mind theres about 3-5 people DIRECTLY infront of us, and then even more people infront of them. Me and my dad are like like what do you want us to do, theres loads of people infront we cant go anywhere. The man goes “true”. So my Dad goes, “if you should be having a word with anyone it should be the boys infront, they skipped infront of us, without letting us on”. The man goes “really?” drives his truck away without having a word to anyone else. He had only came up to us because he saw that theres a FEMALE JUNIOR golfer, with her dad and thought oh yea she must be slowing everyone down when we are directly behind the man infront. Get your facts straight before coming over!
We later find out that the two men behind us are the ones that rang the Pro-Shop, asking us to go infront, could they not just use their eyes and see that no one was going anywhere anytime soon?!
Me and my dad complete our 5th hole, we turn around and we see the two men behind us, skipping to the next hole, WITHOUT informing us?! So we go over and were like, if your gonna skip infront of us we will not be waiting for you to hit your shot, if you get hit its your own fault. One of the FULLY GROWN MEN, goes “they dont allow lessons on the course”, implying that my dad is giving me a lesson when he really wasnt, Ive actually been playing golf for a year now!
We dont have any interactions with the men infront after that, however he does ring the Pro-Shop up yet again, and the worker drives past in his truck again looking to see where we are, notices we are right behind the two grown men, doesn’t bother stopping because there’s nothing you can say! We are in the right here.
Once we’ve finished, my Dad goes into the Pro-Shop after to complain, and the Staff were not hearing him out one bit! Taking the member’s side simply because they are members. The attitude on the Staff was disgraceful, no remorse for what we have been through whatsoever.
Your meant to be encouraging juniors to play on the golf course, yet you treat me like this? An absolute joke if you ask me. Regardless of everything thats gone on, I will not be letting this ruin my day, or my future in golf. I will continue to show up to courses, and I might even go back to Aintree again sometime, who knows! Butt do I really want to keep supporting a place that bully’s juniors? Definitely not.
To put it simply, I really wouldn’t recommend Aintree to anyone anymore, its fully disappointed me this, and I dont think ill be coming back until there’s serious change! And trust me, this place needs some serious change.

This is good facility, the driving range is large and flood lit, the staff in the shop are friendly and very helpful. The cafe/bar offers reasonable priced food and drink, that is good quality. The 9 hole course is decent, well maintained and reasonably priced. I have played there many times and will continue to do so. I was disappointed in the most recent visit as the greens were being reseeded and there was no mention of that on the website or in my confirmation email. It made consistent putting impossible. I have never know a golf club not to inform players that this kind of maintenance is happening.

Hello,
We are glad that for the most part you enjoy your visits to Aintree Golf Centre, and we are sorry that you did not receive any information about the reseeding.
A few days before the reseeding was done to the greens, we made sure that all the booking sheets for members and visitors had been sent an email reminding them that this was going to be going ahead. We are sorry if this for some reason did not reach you.
Now if you were paying on the day, then you should have been given the temporary green fee rate. However if you paid online and have not yet received your refunded difference for being on temporary greens, then can you give us a call on 0151 523 5157, and we will be able to sort out a refund for this.

Paid full price of £10 for 9 holes on website. Upon arrival asked if we got the message about every single hole being in temporary greens, we replied no we received no message. Explained that due to reseeding every green was a temp. No apology offered and no form of compensation offered for the fact we paid full price for a poor experience.

Hello,
We are very sorry that you had this experience here at the Golf Centre. A few days before we were all going onto the temporary greens, we emailed the booking sheets and sent emails to everyone reminding them that this would be the case. We are sorry that the staff member wasn't giving any apology and we will deal with this accordingly.
Now regarding your booking, if this was an online payment, then you should have been refunded the difference as we would have charged for a reduced temporary green fee. If this has not happened then please ring us on 0151 523 5157, and say you are after a refund for being on temporary greens, and we will give you the difference back.
Thank you for leaving this review as it allows us to see how we can improve.

Long course with a couple of interesting holes, greens not bad for time of year but bunkers could do with some attention, good course for beginners

If you want to improve your game and want to see the stats.... Definitely amazing value for money.... Staff were really friendly and show you how to use the system (really easy) and with the app your able to keep the stats to see where to improve.... I would like to see investment into new range balls but don't let that put you off... We'll worth a trip

Have been away from the game for nearly 10 years. My son has encouraged me back and after a few sessions at a golf range this was the perfect re entry to a game.
The 9 hole course is a pleasure to go round with the added bonus of the history of the race course around you.
£10 for a round plus 50 balls for warm up practice is excellent value.

..the girl serving drinks in the bar got annoyed that my son played pool on the pool table. Although he was quiet and respectful the barmaid took offence and made her feelings clear. It's a nice place, charming and relaxed but maybe it's the type of place reserved exclusively for 'regulars'.
