- Lizziegirl9328 contributionsGhost train ride needs to prioritise Disabled peopleThe day was good but what made it very uncomfortable for me as I am disabled was the waiting in one line for a ride. I have Parkinson’s and find it difficult to stand for long periods. Despite having a disabled pass at Thorpe Park I was made to stand over 45 minutes for the Ghost Train! I went to the employee who was at the ride and told him I cannot stand for long but I just got told to wait! This made me unable to walk around for the rest of the day and decide to go home. This was a family day out, and no other ride was like this. Leaving early was not good. Something needs to be done with this ride. I was not the only disabled person being made to stand and wait.Hi Lizzie, I'm sorry to hear that you had to wait for longer than you expected for our Ghost Train ride which resulted in you having to leave the park early. It is hard to accurately know how busy a queue can be throughout the day. We do brief our rides and attractions hosts regularly to be consistent in the batching ratio between standard day ticket holders, FastTrack holders, and Ride Access Pass users who require assistance with queueing due to medical/disability needs. These guests all feed through different queue lines, and we do our best to streamline this process in the interest of fairness for all. However. your comments are something we will forward on to our rides management team as we acknowledge the impact that extended wait times can have on our visitors and aim to improve our park in any way we can. If you would like to discuss this with us further then please email us at customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and we would be happy to assist you. - Mrsf2511 contributionsGreat value trip we love the ridesWe visited again due to the amazing offer of unlimited fast track, general entry , shark cabin stay and breakfast. We had done all the rides by 3pm. Breakfast was great. Fast track was fabulous. The shark cabins were the worst part for us . They were clean and the beds were comfortable we slept really well after a long day. The reception team were brilliant. They are just so small for a family of 4. Still a bargain and would return again.Hi there, Thank you very much for leaving us this 5* review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great stay with us here are Thorpe Park Resort! - Eli C2 contributionsWould definitely recommendThorpe park was an amazing experience the queues were quite short. The longest I waited was for collosus as it was 25 minutes whit a slight delay as they had to clean something up. The staff were very kind and friendly. The park is fairly big but not big enough to get lost. The flat rides were all near each other which was handy. Overall I had a great time. I would recommend going on a week day. I would also suggest buying the digital photo pass. Meaning that you will get all the photos sent to your phone.Hi there, Thank you for leaving us your 5* review! J was desperate to get back to the park to ride saw after seeing the new movie. As passholders we go a lot, but this year looks to be one of the best fright nights in a long time! - nh1CreweCrewe, United Kingdom150 contributionsAn awesome theme parkAn amazing theme park. This park might be small but OMG the rides there are fantastic and not too far apart like Alton Towers. Queues were very short today and we got front seats on every occasion apart from one. It's a 350+ mile round trip for me. Would I go again? 100% yes I wouldHi there, Thank you for leaving us your 5* review! We are very happy to hear that you had such a great time with us here at Thorpe Park Resort! - ThemeParkFan91 contributionsFright Nights for the win!The best Merlin Halloween event of the year by far. Busy, but packed with atmosphere. The small addition of an Halloween soundtrack played over the entirety of the park is a game changer. Deaths Doors and The Crows are a great “freebie”, and the more teen/adult geared entertainment is a bonus. Add to that the external food outlets offering decent food at reasonable prices and the 6 hour journey there and back was worth it. Queue management need to be better around the free scare zones as there was a lot of pushing in, but to be fair security did step in. Even with the occasional issues of anti social behaviour this park can attract (unfortunately) we had a great time and can’t wait to be back for Hyperia. That coaster will make this park ultra competitive.Hi there, Thank you for leaving your 5 star review! I'm glad to hear that you had a great time at our Fright Night event. - Mya H2 contributionsFright Night PackageAmazing rides!!! Every intense ride was definitely worth the wait. Scare actors were incredible as were the staff!! Staff were so kind and nice, especially the ones in the Shark Cabin reception, all of them were so polite and friendly !! One downside was the shark cabin hotel, live flies around the showers in the corners, dirty floors, and dirty beds, with hair that wasn’t ours in it, HOWEVER cool LED lights. BUT would not recommend staying in the park itself if they’re not going to get rid of the flies!Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave your 4 star review on our resort! - LauralouSouthampton, United Kingdom53 contributionsBest Fright Night!!!After reading recent reviews, I think I definitely picked the right day to go to Thorpe Park and so glad I didn't go on Sunday. I took my daughter yesterday (Monday) for her Birthday and have to say it was the best day! I was amazed at how lovely and quiet it was, the longest queue that we waited in was 40mins, which meant that we got to do Swarm, Stealth, Saw, Collosus, Nemesis and Rush twice plus the flat rides and even got on The Walking Dead and Ghost Train, which I've never been able to do before as normally spend most of the day queuing. We arrived at 10am so by 5pm we had completed the rides and were ready to head over to the three scare mazes. And wow they were amazingly terrifying. The actors are so good at their job and the attention to detail in each maze is 10/10. The two free mazes, Deaths Doors and The Meadows are really good aswel, definitely recommend doing those when it's dark. Lots of food choices too. We had hotdogs and chips at lunch and then chicken tikka curries in the evening which were delicious. Followed by our favourite doughnuts from the doughnut factory. Overall had the best Fright Night here and can't wait to do it all again next year!!Thank you so much for your 5* Review, we really appreciate this feedback and can’t wait to welcome you back to the Resort soon!-LilWritten 18 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 October 2023

- CocoabeanLondon, United Kingdom24 contributionsRides closedWe went on Friday 13th for fright night. It was a great day and we all had fun. The actors were great and certainly scary 🤣 The only thing I would say is that we queued for 30 mins for stealth and then the ride stopped for a while and everyone kept leaving- we figured after 5/10 mins that the ride had closed. They could’ve at least communicated this to us as we were standing in the freezing rain. Then we went to swarm which we then waited 20 mins. A group of people walked back out the queue but we didn’t think anything of it. 5 mins later a couple walk out and tell us that it’s closed. Once again no notification to tell us. Other than that it was great, just disappointed as we then didn’t end up going on a ride for at least 1 1/2 hoursHi there, Thank you for your 4* review! We are happy to hear that you had such a great day here at Thorpe Park Resort! We are very sorry to hear that ride closures had an impact on your visit with us, we will ensure that in the future that closures are communicated more clearly with the guests in the queue. I understand no one can help the weather but in 34 degrees today rides were mostly 75+ minute wait to 120min + wait. Whilst in the que many of the long wait rides would then brake consistently across the park. It was overcrowded from the start. There were numerous fights in the que, over either que jumping or smoking neither of which were policed. Constantly asking people to not sit on the fences though so clearly someone was watching and could have intervened. No social distancing being enforced although there are markings on the floor.
Refill stations were not plentiful and the few we found had long ques. Due to no maps anymore we didn’t know where to find these... staff although amazing in this weather all seemed new with no clue of where anything was just that “things opened at 12”. When asked how long it would be from certain point on inferno the member of staff said he didn’t know but that he was “ready to walk out but that in doing so he would have to walk three hours home”...(why we needed to know this I don’t know).
So the government has the eat out scheme. This applies to none of the eateries within the park so if you’re expecting this you’ll be disappointed. Despite the same chains offering this service everywhere else!.
In 9 hours we managed four rides. Now “luckily” we are staying over.... restaurant need you to book (Covid) I understand this. The restaurant refused us drinks before our booking time but allowed other guests outside to purchase drinks. When our time to eat came we were shown to a tiny table near the kitchen by staff who seemed like they didn’t care less. The restaurant seemed to have no air con as well as basic manners and customer service!. In the end we boxed up our food and went outside.
In total (including fuel for the three hour drive) we’ve spent just over £450 before we got into the park. It was over crowded they aren’t limiting numbers at all and are clearly struggling with maintaining not only staff training and service, but the rides & ques themselves.
I’ve been every year. This will be the last. Not even bothering to stay tomorrow.

Hi there,
Firstly I would like to apologise for the long queue times, I can ensure that we have opened the Resort on limited capacity therefore we only have a limited amount of rides open as you are already aware. As a result of this, more guests are trying to get on the same rides at the same time resulting in the queue times being longer than usual. Adding to this, queue times may also be longer due to staff having to clean/sanitize the rides at regular intervals during the day which may add time to the queues. I apologise for any delays that may have had on your day.
Regarding no maps, on our app we have a virtual map which is the same as our paper ones, just on your phone. I apologise that you were unaware of this.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback about the day of your visit and I hope that I have been able to answer these for you. Without guests contacting us with their feedback we are unable to pass this on to the relevant departments for their review and consideration. With your feedback we can now ensure that the points you raised are passed forward and relevant action can be taken to prevent any disappointment to future guests.I have created you a case with our customer service team, should you wish to discuss your feedback further then please email customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and quote the case number 6114534. They will then be able to assist you further.

Very Disappointed with our visit today. We arrived into the park at 10:30am and headed to colossus, the queue was quite long with the end of the queue right on the entrance where the advised waiting time is. The waiting time was 100 minutes like every other main attraction was so we decided to wait. It took us 2.5 hours until we reached the coaster for a 2 minute ride.
We then headed to samurai where it stated a 30 minute wait but actually took 60 minutes. We then decided at 2:30pm after spending most of our time waiting in queues to leave the park.
If you download the Thorpe park app or go to rides based on the advised waiting time you might as well double the time they estimate.
I understand we live in difficult times with restrictions and hygiene guidelines that we should be following but the enforcement of these guidelines in this park are appalling. No one in these queues wore face masks until they reach the staff member who directs them to their seat on the ride, then as soon as the ride starts moving the mask is pulled down.
We booked tickets thinking that there would be less people in the park as Thorpe park’s website states they are limiting ticket sales but we saw nothing to indicate reduced ticket sales. The park was rammed.
It would be interesting to know what the guest limit is as there are many reviews complaining about there being too many guests on the Island like no other.
I’ve attached photos of waiting times from the app, if you are thinking of going for a day out please double these figures for realistic waiting times.
We spent around £100 for tickets and parking and managed to get on 2 rides in 4 hours. We would be happy to have actually paid more for entry if the tickets were realistically limited so we could actually get on the rides.
I’ve been to Thorpe park a few times but unless things change, I’m afraid we won’t be coming back and won’t recommend people visiting.

Hi there.
Firstly I would like to apologise for the time you had to wait for Colossus and Samurai. Due to the recent circumstances and staff having to clean the rides at regular intervals of the day, it does make queue time slightly longer than usual. Adding to this, guests have to social distance on our rides which then delays queue times again as we are having to use less seats each time, I apologise for the delays this caused to your day.
I can ensure you that we have opened the Resort on a limited capacity and have a limited amount of tickets for each ticket type. We ask all those who visit our attraction to observe closely our strict guidelines on maintaining a safe distance between each other and to maintain good hygiene practices including utilising the hand sanitiser stations located around the Resort. I'm sorry to hear you felt this was not the case. Our team members are trained to enforce this around the Resort when they have been made aware of any guests who aren’t following the guidelines.
The safety measures put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic are there to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of all guests visiting our Attraction. It is in the interest of everyone at our Attraction to comply with the safety measures that have been put in place. Therefore, should an individual not comply with these safety measures, we reserve the right to require that individual to leave the Attraction in accordance with these terms and conditions.
I have created you a case with our customer service team, should you wish to discuss your feedback further then please email customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and quote the case number 6113710. They will then be able to assist you further.

I spent an astronomical £307 on my 3 boys and I (with basic hotel) to visit yesterday. We did the 3 big rides that were open by 11am and then queues were 50-70 minutes. There was no shelter, the only place open to get a hot drink was in the reception dome and we were advised to sit on the floor as the 9 tables were full. Plenty of tables through a glass window but I guess we need to spend more than £25 it costs for 4 hot chocs and a cake each.
There are no indoor areas which was awful in the rain, lots of water rides (same) and lots of people ignoring social distancing and literally walking into us in the queue. I was looking forward to the ghost train but it was closed and converted to a halloween scare maze which costs yet more money. Soaked through we left at 1230 when all queues were well over an hour, no entertainment anywhere and just too many people for such a small place. Having been to Alton Towers scarefests the last couple of years, we expected something of a similar standard but they are worlds apart. An awful waste of money to pay just to queue. As a final kick in the teeth it took 15mins of queuing for the privilege of paying (£/8/10? Cant remember) to leave the car park. Evidently no refunds although rainy day policy advertised everywhere and the 2 main rides we wanted (Saw and Ghost Train) were shut all day. Daylight robbery and very disappointed. Go to Alton Towers.

This month was my first time to Thorpe Park. After growing up with Alton Towers in my doorstep, and a regular visitor, I had always wanted to visit Thorpe Park; how disappointed I was.
We arrived for the parks opening, of which a friend who is a Merlin pass holder had prepurchased two discounted tickets. We had to have these two discounted tickets verified and dispensed at the Island Ticket Centre to ensure they were purchased with a valid Merlin pass. We qued for over 30 minutes to have out tickets dispensed, before spending another 30 minutes queuing for entry, temperature checks, bag checks and finally the entry gates.
I have no issue queuing for bag or temperature checks, though it seemed many others joing the que had prepurchased full price tickets which needed to verification leaving us considering if a discounted ticket provided a discounted experience.
In entry to the park the Saw ride remained closed until early afternoon, with both Swarm and Stealth intermittently being listed on the Thorpe Park App as closed or delayed. This results in surges of people heading for remaining rides throughout the day notching the wait time for the majority of rides to over 100+ minutes.
Now, I understand the current restrictions in place surrounding the coronavirus pandemic; when visiting a place such as a theme park I full expect some people take precautions or seriously than others, however given the the 'limited capacity'of visitors Thorpe has stated they have been allowing in was too high a volume for a theme park of such a small size to allow appropriate social distancing should one choose, and for the efficiency of the rides; capacity in relation to entry should match the capacity the rides are effective in holding, which was restricted due to social distancing.
There was also lack of sanitizing stations as well as many indoor spaces that state a mask is required, no one was wearing one.
In 7 hours in a park of current limited capacity we managed 4 rides in total, only 1 being a 'main' rollercoaster.
Thorpe Park is a compact space with several thrillseeking rides, and whilst these are sure to give you the buzz you seek, the park and the ability to effectively manage the rides and visitor capacity is poor, which I am sure will leave many full paying customers sorely disappointed.
I would much rather experience smaller thrill rides at a theme park with more effective visitor and attraction management, such as Alton Towers, than spend hours queuing for a a small number of top thrillseeker coasters for a lesser experience.
This was my first visit to Thorpe Park, and will certainly be my last.

Hi Ross,
Firstly I would like to apologise that your day here did not go as expected. I would like to apologise for the time it took for you to get in the Resort on the day of your visit due to our security checks. As a result of these sensible precautions it is now essential that we search all guests upon arrival. I understand that at opening times this can cause delays in entering the park and I would like to apologies for this and the effect it had on your day with us. I will ensure to pass your feedback onto our security team to review this for the future.
In regards to ride availability, due to the nature and complexity of our rides there may be times where we need to take a ride out of operation briefly; this can be due to many reasons such as a technical fault, a guest's action or adverse weather conditions. However, in every circumstance we have a dedicated team of engineers and ride operators on standby to ensure that the ride is back in operation as quickly as possible. We understand that any shutdowns can increase the wait time and I would like to apologise for any delays that may have been caused.
Staff are trained to ensure social distancing is happening in and around the Resort. We ask all of our guests to observe and maintain our strict guidelines to keep themselves and everyone around them safe. We have put in place a number of different measures across the Resort to maintain social distancing, I can also ensure you that we have opened the Resort on limited capacity to stay inline with the government guidelines. I apologise that this did not appear to be taken seriously on the day of your visit.
I have created you a case with our customer service team, should you wish to discuss your feedback further then please email customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and quote the case number6117410. They will then be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Sasha

Yes it’s the holidays, yes it’s post lockdown. But the website said the park entry numbers were reduced so how bad can it be? The answer is terrible. We got here an hour before opening and have queues of a minimum of 90minutes often 2 hours. 3 rides done in 6 hours. And just want to escape. Can’t even do that as stuck in a huge queue with no easy way
out except pushing past 100’s of people and having no social distancing.
No fast passes for sale and yet many rides loading delayed by people using the fast pass queues.
I understand merlin need to try and re coup their lost revenue from the lockdown but you might as well give them your money and just stay at home it will be a more rewarding experience for you and your family.
Other points to bear in mind very little seating for eating. Some rides aren’t open and parking is an extra charge on top of the hefty admission fee.
Interestingly the app plays games with the customers occasionally showing shorter queues for one ride but once you get there it’s 100-120 minutes. I wonder if it’s a way of moving people around different areas of the park?

Hi family5surf,
Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to contact us regarding your visit. I am very sorry to hear that your visit did not live up to expectations.
Firstly allow us to apologise for the queue times experienced by yourself when visiting the Resort. We have significantly reduced the daily ticketed capacity of our attractions to allow for social distancing and the best possible guest experience however, due to social distancing and regular enhanced cleaning, our queue lines are slightly longer than normal and I would like to apologise for any negative impact this may have
Please note that due to current Covid-19 Park restrictions, Fastrack is currently unavailable. These cannot be purchased in advance, nor on the day of your visit. We apologise this was not made apparent to you prior to your visit. Please be aware that Ride Access Pass users are directed to use the Fastrack lane in many of our rides to reduce the number of queue lanes and improve social distancing within queue lines.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us and apologise that your day did not live up to expectation. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to email into customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and reference case number 6147655. Thank you.

I haven't been to Thorpe Park for years and was really looking forward to it. Took my fearless 11 year old who is just tall enough for the big rides. I had read the FAQs before we left and knew there were closures in place and was expecting some changes due to Covid.
We arrived at 10 and the car park was already rammed. We queued for 40 minutes to get in which was ok as they were running temperature checks and keeping people apart but once you were in it was a free for all. Social distancing was not enforced in queues and there were just too many people. Where masks were required very few appeared to be wearing them. The rides themselves had measures in place which was a bit of a joke when someone has been breathing down your neck in the queue. Queue lengths were over two hours meaning we only managed to fit in 4 rides and one of them was the dogems. We gave up and left early in the end.
One of the rides had a minimum group size of 4 which wasn't communicated and some of the rides that were advertised as open were closed
Very disappointing and very bad value for money. I wouldn't return.

Hi There,
We appreciate you taking the time and trouble to share your thoughts as we always consider any feedback that helps us to improve the service we provide for our guests. Firstly, please allow me to apologise that your day with us did not live up to your expectations. We want all guests to have a great day with us so it was disappointing to learn that this was not the case for you and your group on the day of your visit.
Our queue lines have all been dotted with bright yellow markers, that have been measured at 2 metres apart and I am sorry to hear if other groups did not follow these. Our rides teams do regular announcements in the queue lines and also across the Resort to ensure guests are adhering to social distancing, alongside this our control team constantly monitor the Resort and any groups who are reported to us we manage appropriately.
I would like to apologise for the long queue times, I can ensure that we have opened the Resort on limited capacity therefore we only have a limited amount of rides open as you may already be aware. As a result of this, more guests are trying to get on the same rides at the same time resulting in the queue times being longer than usual. Adding to this, queue times may also be longer due to staff having to clean/sanitize the rides at regular intervals throughout the day which may add time to the queues. I apologise for any delays that may have had on your day.
In the case of Storm Surge, four riders must be in a boat at any given point. Due to social distancing restrictions, we are unable to allow different households or “bubble” to share boats and as a result, groups under four cannot ride Storm Surge. I can appreciate that this may be frustrating, but this restriction is in place with health and safety as our main priority.
I have created you a case with our customer service team, should you wish to discuss your feedback further then please email customer.services@thorpe-park.co.uk and quote the case number 6228579 . They will then be able to assist you further.

We stayed on site at the Thorpe park resort in the Shark cabins for 2 nights. They are exactly as described on the website (Quirky, compact and comfy), they can accommodate 4 people, there were 3 of us and think that would be the maximum number in our opinion. The room was clean and had everything we needed, including good wi-fi.
We spent 2 whole days in the Theme park, it was quite busy but managed to get on nearly all the rides on both days. We downloaded the app on our phones and used it to monitor the queue times in the park, it worked really well. Most queue times were shorter then stated on the app and at the start of the queue lines. Also as we were staying on site we got 2 fast track tickets each day (one for a rollercoaster and the other for a thrill ride). Currently park guests can purchase these at £10 each.
We dined in the New Infinity bar & kitchen which is situated in the Dome for Breakfast (included in the price and you can ask for as much as you would like) and evening meal, all Delicious and a good selection on the menu.
As hotel guests, car parking is free, normally £8 per day.
Due to Covid-19, most people were observing social distancing and felt safe at the resort (need to wear face coverings on most rides).
Would advise booking well in advance, we booked in January and got a good deal for 3 of us. 2 night stay including breakfast, 2 day tickets in the Theme park, 4 x fast track tickets each and free car parking, all the very good price of £240 (£80 each).

Overview
Contrary to what others might tell you, our trip was jam packed full of rides! Although there were some very long queues (with the most being at 90 mins for stealth) in total I got on 6 rides, 4 of which were rollercoasters and the others were water rides. Very thrilling and very tiring!
What to expect:
If you are going to Thorpe park during the pandemic it is imperative for enjoyment to expect long queues. Rides that were closed include walking dead: the ride, Tidal Wave and Darren Browns Ghost Train. Thorpe Park is the self proclaimed Thrill capital and I would not recommend it to young children or people afraid of coasters because there are not enough tame rides to justify the price of a ticket.
Recount of my day:
Got to the entrance at 10 o clock on a Sunday but had to wait 15 mins for temperature and bag check. Once we were in the park we went straight to Nemesis Inferno for about a 40 min wait. Really enjoyed the ride. We then went over to the rapids for a walk on queue and was done by about 11. We then went down to stealth for my largest queue that day at 90 mins. I would have been fine with this except there were a couple people smoking in the queue which is not permitted and Thorpe need to enforce it. Apart from that the queue was 100 percent worth it for stealth. We then made our way down amity into the megastore (which only had a small wait and good social distancing) then into the 20 min queue for Storm Surge. After that it was about 1 o clock. We made our way to Swarm Island where we waited an hour for the swarm which is where I saw some cracks in the social distancing. We queued in the cattlepen (which means lines that go up and down) where we were getting close to the party on each side of the fence separating us. Apart from that though Stealth is one of the best themed coasters in the UK and I loved it. After that I was about half 2 so we decided to get some lunch. The food options are quite limited at Thorpe but we had a KFC. After we ate our food we made our way down to collosus and waited 80 mins for that which brought us up to about quarter past 4. At Merlin owned parks the lines shut when the park shuts not earlier if they have a bigger queue Wichita means I could have probably ridden a flat ride and saw the ride before 5 but because I was so knackered we decided to go.
Recommendation:
I would recommend Thorpe park to thrill seekers or theme park goers over the age of 12.

Hi ThemeParkWizard8,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a 5 star review! We are so pleased to hear that you managed to experience most of our coasters during your day and you enjoyed Stealth!
I am sorry to hear that there were other guests smoking in the queue lines. Please allow me to explain that we have several designated smoking areas around the park to try and prevent smoking around the Resort. We do also have numerous signs across the park and in queue lines asking guests to be considerate of other guests and to extinguish their cigarettes if they are smoking in non-designated areas. I would like to apologise for any impact this had on your day and I would like to assure you that this is something that we will continue to enforce in the future as we understand this can affect the experience for our guests.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us and we cannot wait to welcome you back to the Island Like No Other!
Kind regards,
Amy

I love Thorpe Park. I turn into a child there and the big rides are what make it for me. Having worked really hard lately, I was looking forward to spending a day of thrills, and with it being the first day of Fright Nights, enjoy a maze at 3pm. Adrenaline helps me relax.
Firstly, considering we’re in a pandemic, we were very impressed with the measures in place to help those that are concerned be less anxious. People kept their distance in queues, wore masks (and were constantly reminded to do so) and there was always some antibac gel nearby.
That said, considering there were obviously less people there, the queues really got out of control, not helped by a very inaccurate app giving vastly incorrect queue times. As an example, Saw opened as I queued next to it for Samurai. I left the queue as it said a 5 minute wait time. I started queuing (as it still said 5 minutes) at 12:23 and got on the ride at 12:57. A miniscule wait compared to those that joined after me.
Yes, very early on we got to go on Stealth and Inferno without a huge wait (even though the app said 5 minutes when it was really 20). But with no new big rides, Saw not opening up until partway through the day and Swarm and Collosus taking turns to be faulty, the queues are too big for the money spent.
Don’t get me wrong, we GET that queues are a part of it – but by the time we left (which was just after lunch because we seriously couldn’t face the queuing times), Saw had a 120 minute queue for what I believe is a 90 second ride. Like the worst date ever. The rest of the rides were all a minimal of 80 minutes or closed on and off. In a time when we have to queue more everywhere, it’s too much.
So, Thorpe Park, please can you add more rides? Or if you can’t do that, reduce the (quite large) entrance fee? Or make the rides longer and worth the wait a little more. But please do something as we really don’t want to fall out of love with you because you expect us to continue putting up with this.

A few years ago we (family of 6) stayed overnight at Thorpe Park shark cabins with two days in Thorpe Park and it was so perfect we decided to do it again this year for my sons 21st. WHAT A MISTAKE! Everything about this trip was awful. Let's start by checking in at the shark cabins, we were firstly treated like an inconvenience by the lady in reception. She wasn't going to give us breakfast because we hadn't received an email about booking it, we were also told they had stopped the one hour fast pass for hotel guests and you had to book your own slot on the ghost train, so change from the previous trip and now no benefit to be a hotel guest. We asked her if we could book in the parks restaurant for dinner, no we couldn't due to covid restrictions could we at least get a pint from the bar, no because dinner guests may sit in the bar before their meal, BUT we could take a mcdonalds in and eat there, so covid isn't the reason you clearly don't want to serve us! It made no sense that we could eat there just not their food? You can't get a drink even though the bar was practically empty. At breakfast we waited like the sign said, the boy cleaning the tables kept looking at us, people inside did the same, so we went to walk in only for the table boy to shout we couldn't go in, how about using some manners then and say morning someone will be with you shortly instead of having us look like complete idiots! Obviously the breakfast order was wrong and all the sausages were uncooked. Last time we got refillable cups costing 8 pounds, this time they cost 12 pounds and NO ONE tells you they run out at midnight when you purchase it, so if you go for two days like we did and you buy 4 cups at 4 o clock you have completely wasted your time. We booked Derren Brown ghost train , my headset worked perfectly BUT there were 2 girl workers stood next to me discussing loudly whether they would wear masks or not on Monday and, distracted me and ruined the whole experience for me. The weather was so hot half the Park lost power, rides broke down left right and centre, not the parks fault but it would've been nice if the staff interacted with you like at Alton Towers rather than ignore you. We had people fully lying down in queues and not moving up causing a few disagreements and panic attacks , also a family of about 12 kept walking past to get to whoever was holding their spot, it's OK having signs up but no staff to stop this. We lost money in an outdoor grabbing machine and prizes were stuck inside yet no one to help us this time retrieve them. We went to kfc and stood at the counter for ages waiting to be served while 5 staff had a good chat about their weekend. All in all complete waste of money, we paid DOUBLE this time for no benefit whatsoever, I can honestly say we won't be returning like originally planned .

is it a good idea to get fast track when going thorpe park for one day?
Written 3 July 2024
I didn’t and was 0-5 min queues I’m always at parks. Weekend and school hols or thurs to Sunday yes… but wait till day to see how busy it is. The rest pre book.
If schools are all back leave a good week or two first then Monday to wed is extremely quiet I’ve never needed any on them days for Thorpe park or Alton towers or Flamingoland or Blackpool pleasure beach this year.
Weekends and school holidays I do get unlimited as it is needed but worth it. If bit lucky all rides are open and running too all day.
Mondays best for Thorpe park I find.

Me and my friend are coming straight from the airport to the park and are staying off-site, but we brought two small duffel bags. I was just wondering if that allowed or not?

yes, the bags will be checked by security upon entry the park, you can rent out a locker for the day to store them in! have a great trip!! (:

Going to Thrope park with my 5 other friends. Looking to have one wet day and one dry day. Is Amity Beach allowed for six 20yr olds to lay about in? We will be going on the wet rides too but just worried we won't be allowed on the beach area as we've got no kids. Going on a Monday and Tuesday.
Also we're all planning to wear swimsuits, hopefully that's not too much? Are there changing rooms?
Written 31 May 2024
Yes. I think amity beach can hold up too 50 people. I advise if you’re going to do a wet day, do it first as the drive home on the second day will be warm. Have a fun trip!

First time at park, taking young teens. Wont be going on rides myself, is it easy enough to let them queue on own and meet them at other side of the rides?
Written 8 September 2023
That's what I used to do , if you can trust them to behave in the queue, see them in then meet them at the exit , but if you want to queue with them you can and you can exit before they get on the ride X have fun
