What a great railway, the staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming. My friend and I have never visited before, we got a really good welcome form one member of staff who on noticing we worked for a Heritage Railway got a great tour of the loco sheds and a ride before it opened to the public which was great. Hi Steve, Thank you for your review. We are pleased that the 2nd generation of your family like visiting us as much as you! It's always nice when we get visitors who say " I used to bring my children here and I'm back with my grandchildren," or " I remember coming here as a child and I've been waiting till my own are old enough." It must mean we are doing something right!

We travelled on both routes and waited no longer than 4 or 5 minutes for each on a sunny and busy Sunday afternoon. There is a little café where you can buy food and drinks, but we did not use it as had just popped over from living very locally. I think there were toilets if required too and plenty of parking. Both routes take about 15 minutes each which is surprisingly long. It is very child friendly and was a lovely afternoon out for our family that we will aim to repeat soon.…
