What a fantastic experience at Castle Combe Circuit,3 laps each car,the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Ferrari 430.I'm not really a 'petrol 'ead' or F1 fan but this was amazing!Both instructors were friendly,informative,patient and encouraging.
Thank you to everyone at Castle Combe Circuit for a truely memorable day and to my mrs for organising such a special Birthday treat!

Have just had a day at the Anglesey race circuit. The circuit itself was great. However, there are lots of hidden extras for the experience day; first was £10 for a trial lap in a Ford Focus to familiarise yourselves with the track. There was then a charge for a USB stick which filmed all your drives - a wonderful memory of your day, you would think. Again this cost £35 extra! Not too bad if it had worked as promised. However, out of three drives that I had today, the sound only worked on one of them, the other two were silent! On one of the drives, I did not even appear on the camera!! Coming off the track there was again the opportunity to make purchases - photographs at £25 extra to be added to the memory stick. Again, as a memento of the day, I decided to add these on. However, no photographs of my first drive were added as the member of staff showing us the photographs seemed clueless as to know where they had been recorded! So, again I paid money and did not get what I had paid for. I had thoroughly enjoyed the day and was looking forward to seeing my recordings and photos to show to my family and friends, but what I received was appalling!! In all, I had paid £60 for digital recordings of the photographs and drives, but if I had been shown the recordings before I purchased them, I wouldn't have even paid £5.00! On my first drive, I only got two laps of the circuit rather than the three laps I had paid for! This money making racket and the quality of the items purchased were so awful that it absolutely ruined my day! I don't mind paying for what I receive, but this, by any stretch of the imagination was a disgraceful rip-off! I would go again for the experience, but I would strongly advise people NOT to purchase ANY of the extras available, they are a complete and utter waste of money. I would be surprised if I receive a reply to this from anyone at 6th gear as they must be aware of what they are doing, and laughing all the way to the bank!!
Update: I have been offered a £5 refund on the video recording! Considering that half of the recording didn't work, this is unacceptable, but 6th gear are unwilling to help any further!

We can see that your voucher was from a third party and not bought directly from us, this is not a problem but vouchers from third parties don't always include the extras you chose to add on the day. Naturally the price paid for the for the experiences will depend on what is included, looking t your voucher is was one of the more affordable options, less time on track and less included, like the demo lap or USB.
We are sorry your USB recordings only worked fully for one of your three drives, as you say we had to offer you a part refund due to us only being able to retrieve one of your two with errors from the cars backup drive.
All the camera systems are checked each day but unfortunately corrupt file do sometimes happen.
The cost of the USB is £35 and would have been £35 if you had one drive or upto 4 drives, in your case it was 3 cars. This is why you have only been offered a part refund.
Your still pictures were added as soon as you made us aware and we are sorry they did not arrive in the first email link.

The insurance that i already paid was again asked for, not wanting to risk anything I paid again, my first two drives were good the last was unpleasant as I asked for automatic but was refused as it would ruin the experience, the paddles ruined my experience also the lack of power in the Ferrari F40. Finally after paying £45 for pictures and download pictures more than eight days later still no pictures sent, have requested a refund for the unsent download pictures. Disappointed

We are sorry your download didn't arrive on the day, as you will be aware wifi signal at Anglesey isn't the strongest due to its location.
Your £45 was for two large 12x8 prints and all of the digital files (the negatives)

on further investigation the emails had gone into your junk / spam folder.

Be warned! Don’t let your voucher expire.
I admit this was totally my fault as I let my voucher expire, and when I phoned to enquire I was told that extensions are only allowed within the life of the voucher.
To be fair to 6 Gear this is in the T&Cs but I think it’s a shame nothing could be done to help me. I’m sure their cars are better than their customer service, but sadly I’ll never know.
This was a £500 voucher bought as a fiftieth birthday present and as you can imagine the person who bought the voucher is none to happy with me…….(how much is a divorce?)
The company were nice enough about it, but sadly it was “computer saids no” attitude.
So once again folks,
DON’T LET YOUR VOUCHER EXPIRE.

Your voucher was bought if February 2019,
Extended twice due to covid free of charge,
You then extend it a further three times by calling the office and it finally expired December 2022.
You then called us on the 31st of March 2023 to extend it further but it had expired.
we have had and run over 250 event days during the time your voucher was valid.
Very sorry you feel let down but your review above doesn't tell the full story.

I booked a 6 car driving experience, at Elvington, York, for my husband, a 60th birthday surprise in November 2022. I covered all eventualities when booking, including Collision Waiver and Cancellation Cover, at extra costs. Spoke to Sophie over the phone and she was so pleasant and extremely helpful. Everything ran smoothly, with an efficient team! On arrival at check in, my husband upgraded to the Aston Martin DB9 for his 'hot lap' In hindsight, he wished he had waited until after all his 6 drives, as my husband would have chosen the Porsche 997 Turbo instead, having experienced them both and at an extra cost of £15, it's not a cheap upgrade. My husband was thrilled to have driven such a variety of cars for his birthday and said it was the best present he'd ever had. The weather for November, was kind to us, so had a fantastic day! My package included pictures/video of all the drives on a memory stick. If you want to treat your loved one, choose 6th gear experience. It's a fantastic day out and one to remember!!! :-)

We took our nieces to dunsfold airfield for one of their birthdays. Booked directly with 6th gear and got a good deal for one of them (14 years old) to drive a ferrari f430, lambo lp570 and a ferrari f458. She loved it ! The instructor let her drive them at a reasonable speed and even let her overtake some other drivers! Needless to say she absolutely loved it.
We managed to get our other niece a passenger ride in a radical at the same time, safe to say we are the coolest uncle and auntie!

Poorly organised with even poorer customer service experience both on the day and after the event.
Had to wait over 1 & 1/2 hours between test run and active run. Trackside staff happy to allow whoever shouted loudest to go first without any kind of order. They were uninterested in making eye contact with customers and staying well out of earshot making it impossible to converse.
Prepaid video not available therefore a refund or digital photos were offered as a replacement. 12 Digitals photos arrived after waiting 6 weeks and several emails and phone calls. Digital photos were 3 photo bursts thus very poor value for money.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are just sorry we seem to have go it so wrong from your perspective.
Looking at your booking you your 911 driving experience was booked in for 3:20 and you drove at 3:55 so we apologise for running 35 minutes behind schedule.
As for the USB sticks, sadly sometimes the videos do fail, they are set to back up each drive but sadly in your case this didn't happen. as you mention you had the option for a refund of the cost or the pictures, the pictures are taken in the pitlane before you enter the track and also from one corner, the same corner for each lap so they will look similar. the files sent allow to the freedom to reproduce the pictures time and time again with no copyright constraints so we feel theses are very good value for money.
We are sorry you feel this way Karl, and if this affected the drive Owen had on the day.

Hi basically my son's experience was cancelled about a week and a half ago. I have rung several times, sent 3 emails asking for a refund as the other options were too far away (150 miles) being told cant speak to anyone but to wait for an email, which I don't think is ever going to happen. The birthday is now ruined. His experience was meant to take place on 21st April and all I want is a straightforward refund !!! If I do not get one I will certainly take this further.

My sons was cancelled ,sounds the same purchased as a birthday present . I then got two emails in the space of 45 minutes using the excuse of a fatality week before his birthday . No evidence ever produced of such an event . And again date changed by 3 months in a different location no consulting. Then lots of lies told, email sent which didn’t exist .Then got attacked on social media for complaining so gave some back 😉Had some hilarious and quite pathetic email exchanges . Looks like the companies run by a bunch of cowboys with big egos and opinions. They’ve refused me a refund ,luckily I paid with a credit card so I’ve put it into dispute and explained all to the bank I will provide full evidential package and expect a full refund eventually . They appear to be taking bookings knowing they can’t fulfil them and using terms and conditions to try and wiggle out of refunds with a “ it’s all out of our control letter ,using a fatality if it ever happened or effected them which is in question! I personally think it’s an attempt at manipulation and a cover as an excuse for appalling customer service ! Lack of resourcing and poor organisation . Have look at the google reviews they tell the tale of many people like you and I .

Hi I can't recommend any officially but the De Vere at Sunningdale is around 5 miles away and is surprisingly reasonably priced. Check it out online.
