Shame I have to give this company a star at all. *Phone call Wednesday prior confirming collection of boat at 2pm *Day of arrival phone call while enroute to say boat would not be ready until 4pm *We called in to see why and were told previous hirers were late back and they would not have time to have boat ready for 2pm. Plus there was a problem with the battery *Spoke to previous hirer who told us they had booked a late checkout. Also told us they had numerous call out due to battery failure and that the shower in main bedroom was blocked *Arrived back at 4pm boat still not ready. Finally boarded around 5pm *Boat had been hosed down and was still wet so we were trailing wet feet through the boat *Beds were not made up. So proceeded to make beds and above the beds was disgusting. Thick black mould covered by months of dirt. On further investigation, the whole of the front by the beds were disgustingly dirty *Cleaners came on board with disinfectant spray and 'so called' cleaned. They clearly hadn't and it was still dirty and we had to do it ourselves *Looking around the rest of the boat there was dirt and grime all over the surfaces along with black cobwebs that had obviously been there a long time *You could not see out of any of the windows by now due to the water drying and leaving dirty water marks. But the inside of the windows were just as dirty *The kitchen utensils were thick with grease and grime and furry with dust stuck to them and the cupboard doors were sticky. Crockery and cutlery were not very clean *Curtain in the front bedroom was missing and been replaced with a cut down shower curtain *When asked if they would clean the windows and do a better clean their reply was 'well it depends what time you want to get off' with a shrug. *Finally set sail around 6pm. Full day lost! And by which time it was starting to get dusk so had to moor up for the night. Gladly by a nice pub *On showering yep the shower in the main bedroom was blocked *Early start the following day, to Hampton Court where we spent the full day. Arrived back at Caprice Boat where we set sail back up River *Moored up for the evening, sat had a few drinks, came to set engine going for showers, dead. Boat would not turn over and start *Stranded in the dark, no water, no heating. Couldn't wash, clean teeth, use toilet *Called for assistance, no reply. Rang Benson who in turn called Chertsey. Paul told us he would come out the following morning * Sure enough 10am Paul turned up. Not before we had to use the toilets and flush with buckets of water from the river *He did something with the engine and after a couple of turns the boat started *By this time we had had enough and decided to take the boat back and leave *We made a complaint requesting a full refund. However, they said we had had so many hours on the boat and so many sailing hours we didn't warrant a full refund *We did get some money refunded but not it all *This boat had not been cleaned or sanitised to Covid Regulations or any hygiene, health and safety regulations. It was disgustingly dirty and not fit for purpose *Our first few hours on board were spent cleaning and sanitsing * Apart from Carlos who was friendly, helpful and sympathetic, the other few staff were not at all

Hired the Kool Kat for half day and it was awesome. We had to change dates due to very bad weather and the guys there couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great service from start to finish, training, maps and advice all excellent. will definitely be using again.

We hired one of their boats for the afternoon. Friendly and helpful staff and great value for money. During this uncertain time I felt safe (as I saw the boat being deep cleaned before our trip). I would totally recommend this company for a lovely trip on the river.

Boat was perfect for 4 adults and 2 lively dogs to take a day trip to Windsor. Locks were easy to navigate and there were plenty of places along the way to stop for lunch, snacks and ice cream. Very friendly and helpful at the boat yard and we were provided with a map with all the stop off places.
