Hello, do u have any Valentines day packages this year?
Yes, Murchison is an attraction and we make it happen, Reach out to us and we will craft that itinerary for you! Since its valentines, We will care about your stay and experiences, Alert us a price friendly trip
I’m interested in how high the climb is to the top of the falls. How many steps? What’s the incline? How long does just that portion of the hike usually take? I’ll be there in a couple weekends and want to be sure I’m physically ready.
Hi I dont know if you’ve been already. Sorry. It depends on the time of year, we went in March and it was very hot. It’s steep too, so take water and a fan. I thought I was going to die lol. Our driver went around in the jeep and I wished I’d gone with him.
We would like to visit Murchison Falls park in July. What is the easiest way to get there from Kampala? Is it necessary to book a more day tour or is it easy to arrange different tours by ourself? We're thinking about to travel from Kampala to Masindi and from there to get to the park. Is that even doable? Hopefully somebody can give us some advice. Jolanda van Leeuwewn
Okey ohh tour trip to murchison will be great for murchison if get 2 nights there . If your flight to enttebe is early inthe morning then it will be easy from airport to murchison passing via masidi it will take like 6 to 7 hrs drive depends on how traffic is but mostly you can arrange your trip with travel/ tour operator any in kampala it will be easy for you .
Hi, Chris. What would you like to know about this attraction? Where does the walk start and finish? North or south bank of the river? Is a guide compulsory? I believe that the river boat journey starts on the north side is that correct? Thanks Chris
Hi Chris Thanks so much for having showed interest in visiting Uganda, especially Murchison Falls National Park, about the walk is in both side, you can do a hike to the top of the falls, there is another route near paraa to the top of the falls about 2 hours walk. In the southern part you can talk a walk in Bundongo forest reserve, but all still remain a guided walk due to it being a national park having cats like lions, you can not be allowed to walk alone since the fee you pay is inclussive of a guide. About the boat, several boats do exist and park at both side, you can be picked up from any side though most clients are picked from the northern side due to them boarding after safari ride. Hope the information is helpful, in case you need a quotation, you can contact me Thanks Fred Odyek
Will the park be open during the festive season ? 26th to 27th of December 2017 to be precise ?
Yes, Fumi, Murchison Falls national park is open all year through. There are different type of accommodations. High budget, medium budget and low budget. For ease of booking, use a tour operator to organize your trip. I often use wild troopers for low budget bookings.
Having just returned home from Murchision Falls and the full on Safari staying outside the park, I am still suffering from an infestation of Teetse Flies in and outside of the park on the road to the Falls is worst..with flies filling our Safari Van and biting us through our clothes, and socks..I do react to bug bites but this was crazy bad, huge swellings and pain and itching for days..the biggest was a leg blown up to twice its size and pus coming out of the injection hole..antibiotics needed and had to cancel the game drives for fear of more bites that could be quite serious..Did anyone else have this serious problem ..sadly our driver did not alert us to not wear blue or black and also to close the windows as we entered Teetse Country. Why when he could have helped protect us did he hold back even when we were bitten no recommendatons for further protection. Very disappointed in this expensive mistake as all costs were already paid..
We didn't have any insect problems at all. None.
what is the size of murchison falls national park in uganda and can this attraction be accessed by train
I don't know the exact size but its the biggest national park in Uganda. you can't access it by train but by road and chartered flights to pakuba air strip. let me know if you need any help including planning tour for you.
how many private cars, larger vehicles and medium vehicles stop every day along the high way in Murchison falls game park to view the wild life
yeah this park, first of all its not on high way though the road that pass through can accommodate all sort of vehicles back to the question yes while in the park not on highway as it said you can
Hi, we're planning on visiting in September as budget travellers with our own vehicle. I think Red Chilli looks the best option for budget accommodation, but how would we go about organising passes and joining a safari/hike/boat trip? Any options for the financially challenged? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
well red chilli is good for budget travellers when your in the park , they have offices on every entry so here you can can book for the boat, pay for hikking fee as well as book guide who shall take around as we as ask the many question as you wish they give all the aswer to all sorts of question passionatily
Hi there. Can I do Murchison falls for a day. How many hours from Kampala?
I don't think it will be possible in one day from Kampala. As someone else already told, it will take you at least 5 hours to go there. The best option is to stay one night in the park. See the falls in de late afternoon and in the early morning and then go back the next day.
