On the way back from the turtle hatchery, we stumbled upon this place while looking for shelter from a mild drizzle. Clean and pretty with coconut trees, the beach was prettily over run with little crabs scuttling around. Not as pretty as Unawatuna, but worth a visit nonetheless.

Beautiful and far less spoiled by development. Not too busy. We were swimming in the lagoon area which is nice and calm and spotted turtles!! The beaches up and down the coast from this area can be reached by walking across rocks at low tide and are also very nice, but you might have to walk along the main road... More

Yet to be ruined by development, you have everything you need on this beach stretch... lovely sand, beautiful nature - sea turtles, fish leaping out of the water, birds diving in to the sea and some great little beach cafes that remain affordable. If you like a quiet life, want to crack open a beer, order some King prawns and... More
