We really enjoyed the San Luis coffee tour. It wasn't at all what we were expecting. Instead of touring a huge commercial undertaking, we were shown a family-owned, sustainable coffee business. We learned all about the work, including how it was done many years ago. Our guide was wonderful, the coffee was delicious, we learned a lot and we had... More

I went on the Cafe Monteverde coffee tour this morning and had a great time! The guide was very informative and answered any questions our group had. The tour through the sustainable agricultural practices at the farm was very interesting. We each got to experience harvesting coffee berries from the coffee trees. The coffee sampling at the end of the... More

Showed the coffee process, from bean to roast, with tasting too. Also included sugar cane and cacao. Nice to see how the qualities are selected and characteristics of each one. Our guides Pronunciation was hard to understand which is too bad as he was funny. At the end you can ride an oxen cart then make your own brown sugar... More

Great Tour. Not your typical commercial tour, but up close and personal. Definitely would recommend.

This is a very good tour. it is educational and very hands on. this tour takes you out to fields, explains the plant and age of productivity. Then you strap a basket on and pick some coffee beans, bring them back to the machine that separates beans from seed coat and juice and then seeds go to drying rack. We... More

The world has a lot to learn from operations like Cafe Monteverde. This was a great environmental educational opportunity for all, coffee and non coffee drinkers alike! You are able to see how the whole plantation runs from end to end, with pig (methane) powered energy for the kitchen and man-powered equipment. There is an opportunity to pick beans, learn... More

Our family - some coffee drinkers, some not - really enjoyed this tour! We learned so much about how coffee is made and produced. This is a small organic farm, not a large scale operation. Their sustainable practices are evident, and the highlight was a coffee cherry picking competition and of course, the tasting at the end. The coffee was... More

We stumbled upon the Coffee tour information at the Casem Coop area coffee shop. We were able to make reservations for the next day and they will pick you up at you Santa Elena area Hotel. Our Hotel did not recommend this tour when we asked about coffee tours. So glad we stopped at Casem. The entire operation is very... More
