Gialiskari beach is really worth a visit if you are into clear waters and less crowds. The water was by far the clearest we saw during our Crete trip and there wasn't too many people. It approx. 4 km so a short run or bike...More

This beach is located on a very clear and virgin place, just a 15 minute from the centre of Palaiochora. It's totally worth it, it's water is soft and fresh, since there are underground springs of cold water. Perfect for families and a place where...More

Gialiskari comes as a set of 3 beaches. The 2 western ones come with big pebbles, the eastern one is called "sandy beach", but it actually has fine pebbles. In a sunny summer day both kinds are impossible to walk without at least a pair...More

One of the best beaches in Paleochora, recommended for everyone who wants to enjoy clear water for swimming in south Crete. Cold though !!

A nice walk from town, or you can drive much of the way by car. We saw wild goats in the steep hills along the way. Mostly level ground; not difficult, and well-marked.

The Western end nearest the car pack and taverna is clothed. Nudity is the norm at the other end. Loungers and umbrella's available in both sections. Access by driving along a dirt road from Paleochora or a dusty walk of a few km. Walk to...More

Visited here in mid October. Beach is shingle and sand. Naturist section at eastern end. Beach very clean. It's about 2km east of Paleochora along an unmade but good track. There are a few tavernas near the beach.

Amazing place to relax by the sea. Water is extremely clear so it is great to enjoy underwater. Never a lot of people around so it is worth to go through the difficult road to get there as the experience will compensate the road.
