Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Located in one of the more industrial areas of the island near the island’s airport and power plant. Water is quite shallow, so one needs to walk some distance to fully immerse without laying down. Very fine black “sand” sticks to everything. Lots of seaweed in the water. The froth from waves was brown. Freighters anchored offshore. Seemed dirty. Check out the photos on a web browser map for Paralia Monolithos to see for yourself. Positive reviews for this beach do not mention most of these downsides.

Adored this beach - our holiday really was one of a kind. We luckily didn’t come across any awful experience. The beach is (personally) my favorite in santorini. So quiet, so peaceful, not busy at all and just somewhere where you fully can relax

Lovely beach plenty of free parking. Places to eat and a mini market to pick up what’s needed if you decide not to use the resturant’s
Sunbed price €15 which was much cheaper than Kamari beach

I have to agree what negatives people are saying about this place. Yes it's in the middle of no where, yes it's not the most attractive of beaches, and yes a bit further down the coastal road is awful. There is debris and litter everywhere, there's an abandoned car with 2 toilet sticking out of it's boot and of course the massive electricity power plant gushing tons of black smoke into the air 24/7, as well as the noise it makes!

great family friendly beach with sun lounges for hire for eur10 per day. can be paid with card or cash. ample parking options. not many eating options compared to main beaches. ATM on site too. showers available. shallow sandy beach for kids.

Santorini is famous for its sunsets and nobody talks about the magic of the sunrises. Well if you go to Monolithos at sunrise you will be overwhelmed. The colours and the whole experience is much much better than the sunset.

If you wish to relax on a sandy beach on Santorini Island you should visit Monolithos Beach. This is the perfect spot for those who are "tired" of the rocky beaches of Santorini

I cannot understand why this beach has so bad recommendations. It is small, clean, not crowded, water is clear and clean and it's black sand, no stones. Parking is available for free and the chairs and umbrella you rent for 7 euros.
It is threat for kids because they water is very flat for many meters (knee level) and through this the water is also very warm.

For families definitely recommended.

Situated about a mile from Kamari and near the airport this is an excellent beach with fine black sand.Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and a childrens activity play area. Also a stone jetty and small harbour for fishing boats. There are a couple of restaurants and snack bars and the prices are very reasonable compared to the other resorts.
