Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stopped here for dinner as we drove past and glad we did. Lovely promenade with plenty of great places to eat and a little market was on as well with nice home made products/ plants instead of the usual rubbish. We visited Friday evening so unsure if the market is daily.

Salo’ is inside the gulf with its name and this beautiful pedestrian street runs through it entirely.
All around the little Moreninici mountains
From here you can take ferry that connects Salo’ to the others cities on the Lake

We chose to go to Salo for our final day at the Garda Lake and it was the best choice ever. The town is very calm, the architecture is fascinating and the locals are really friendly. There aren't a lot of beaches but not too many tourist either so it wasn't crowded(don't forget your special shoes because these are rocky beaches) The restaurants are very good and because it's not a really touristy place, they're not overpriced and the food is authentic.

Salo has a wonderfully long, flat promenade and is therefore ideal for all age groups. It is very Italian and not as touristy as so many other places have become. Lungolago has plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants and is a very pleasant experience.

We have previously arrived in Salo by the lake ferry and walked the first part of this promenade. This year we visited the Saturday Market which is inland. We wanted a cold drink so walked towards the lake and came out on the southern end of this promenade. They say it is the longest promenade on the lake and it certainly was on a hot July day with a 7month old in the buggy!

Fortunately there are cafes which provide welcome shade and drinks. It is a lovely walk, not too busy and lovely views and photo stops.

A fabulous walk and possible to cover a good distance. At the eastern end the prom ends just beyond the Duomo and from there is it is possible to walk all the way past the beautiful town centre and past various boat yards, junk shops, some nice looking restaurants and all the way to the southern edge of town, where there is a small shingle beach and a beach cafe.
The walkway itself is lovely. At the southern end it is built out over the water in places and has some nice features contained within it.
Very recommended. I thought Salo was the prettiest of the Lake Garda towns we visited. A little quieter than some of the over crowded town on the eastern shore and scenically spectacular

Most enjoyable lakefront resort, small but clean and welcoming. There is an excellent shopping area, and it is not full of tacky goods. Everything on sale appeared to be excellent quality and sensibly priced considering the area. Restaurants were good value, full of a variety of meals and very busy.

We stayed here for a few days at the beginning of our vacation. A lovely (small) town with the usual shops and of course loads of places to eat. We were a bit surprised that most of the shops and even some bars closed at 8pm on a midweek evening and the one gelatoria that stayed open late did a raring trade!! The promenade along the lake is lovely and we found the parking to be relatively easy
