So nice to swim in the ocean water, if it had been closer to Funchal, were we stayed, I would have gone there everyday.

Great Place. A visit is a must. We visited on Jan 11 and were still able to swim, although water temp was around 18C. But the air was warm, and with sun out, it was a refreshing swim. Follow it up with a meal in...More

Swam here in Jan, it was difficult to get submerged but one in it was excellent. Lovely swim and good facilities for £1.50.

These pools created between the rocks are a beautiful attraction, but in winter the temperature is too cold: they are only warmed by the sun, so the temperature is good only during sunny days.

The Natural Swimming Pools at Porto Moniz are a wonderful sight to see. Filled by water from the ocean the pools retain the water and it warms in the sun. Crystal clear and great to swim in.

Lovely place however we called here mid November so didn’t access the natural swimming pools but it’s certainly worth coming during the summer months as this place is a little gem.

Ours was only a flying visit on a West of Madeira coach tour. The scenery is unique and the pools look inviting despite the Atlantic Ocean being just over the wall. The pools are like infinity pools and very calm for those wanting to swim....More

Yes there is it’s how we got there, the bus leaves at 9am and takes about 3 hours to get there and the last bus back to Funchal leaves at 4.45pm. You catch the bus on the main road off the marina
